As Creative Director at Twin Cities PBS (TPT), you will be instrumental in elevating our brand's creative vision and bringing it to life. Blending visionary thinking with sound execution, you will serve as both a leader and a maker, an innovator and a mentor. Reporting to the Director of Creative Services & Marketing Operations, you will guide and inspire our creative team to produce exceptional work across various channels, including broadcast, digital, social media, and print. Your role will encompass managing graphic design projects and team members, actively contributing to graphic design creation, cultivating strong internal and external relationships, and consistently striving for creative excellence.

Hiring Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 annually (depending on qualifications)

Hybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area.

Responsibilities:

Brand Identity

(45% of time )

Oversee the design and creation of graphic elements that creatively reinforce key messages, support brand positioning strategies, and enhance brand identity across diverse media platforms.Oversee creation and station wide execution of new TPT Brand Guide; including Graphic Style, Voice & Tone, and Video Implementation Guides.Conceptualize and execute creative strategies across print, social, digital, and broadcast media platforms.Guide the execution of creative campaigns in collaboration with Marketing and Communications leaders.Cultivate effective internal partnerships and collaboration across integrated teams.Ensure projects align with strategic goals and audience insights.Prioritize work and resources across engagements and develop schedules by collaborating with Creative Services team, Marketing Operations Specialist, and Director of Creative Services.

Team/Staff Management

(35% of time)

Lead the Creative Services team in continued graphic research, evolution, creation, and implementation in alignment with PBS' and TPT's brand standards.Review and approve the Creative Services team's deliverables across print, broadcast, web, and digital marketing, ensuring exceptional quality and alignment with strategic objectives and brand standards.Mentor and empower a team of graphic designers and art directorsInspire and guide Creative Services team along their TPT career paths.Maintain a collaborative attitude and leadership within and across teams.Cultivate a fun, engaging, and balanced work environment.Graphic Design

(15% of time)

Create innovative designs that transform complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences for diverse audiences across various platforms, including print, social and digital outlets.Other duties as assigned

(5% of time)

Participate as an active member of the Creative Services & Marketing Operations team within the TPT MarComm department.Contribute to shared goals and collaborate with departmental colleagues including Content, Lifelong Learning, Membership, Sponsorships, Development, etc. on achievement of priorities.Other duties as assigned.Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in related field and/or ad school credentials or equivalent industry experience.10 years of relevant experience, with 7 or more years as a Creative Director or Sr. Art Director in a related industry (media, entertainment, etc.).5 years of management experience with direct reports.Experienced leader with a proven track record in guiding teams and projects from inception to completion, fostering creativity and collaboration.Experience and strong background in digital design and photography.Preferred Experience:

Experience as a copywriter, production artist, or art director.Experience in project management, with a focus on creative direction.Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Natural eye for design and generator of dynamic ideas that connect with all types of audiences.Open to creative feedback.Diplomatic with strong conflict navigation skills.Motivated by innovative thinking and continuous learning.Proactive, with a willingness to take initiative and tackle challenging opportunities.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Motion, 3D Max, Premiere), Sketch, WordPress and Canva.Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, Teams, etc.Strong focus on audience and end user needs.Strong organizational and time management skills. Able to multitask in a fast-paced, time sensitive production environment.Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all team members.Commitment to advancing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) priorities within the organization.
