Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Urban Equity Collaborative (UEC) is hiring a Social Media Coordinator GA. The UEC is a University of Maryland initiative that employs an intersectional, multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to community-based research, action, and collective inquiry that upholds equitable university-community partnerships. UEC strengthens community-based institutions, leaders, and organizing around critical issues of urban inequality through community-based research and policy action.

Goals and objectives

1. Generate effective, strategic social media posts on LinkedIn and Instagram2. Keep track of social media data3. Come up with ways to increase the UEC's social media presence4. Work closely with UEC Project Manager and coordinate with Senior Leaders and other UEC GAs as needed to remain abreast of all UEC events, research, and opportunities for content to be shared5. Develop a quarterly newsletter detailing UEC team news, a featured spotlight, research updates, and upcoming events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor's DegreeMust be currently enrolled as a master's level graduate student.Preferences:

Preferences:

Graphic design, a plus, but not required.A keen eye for detail and good written and in-person communication skills.Interest in urban equality, community and economic development and/or urban planning and policy.
