Position Specific Description

Please note: this position is based out of the Jupiter West location.

NextEra Energy is seeking a Principal User Experience Web Designer who will play a crucial role in shaping exceptional user experiences for internal enterprise applications in support of Nuclear Business Unit. This position involves leading a team of UX designers, collaborating cross-functionally with various stakeholders, and ensuring design consistency and excellence across multiple projects.

Overview

This job is responsible for creating exceptional user experiences for nuclear business unit specific applications. The Principal User Experience Web Designer works cross-functionally and collaboratively to design the graphical user interface and experience for applications and websites, guiding developers through fulfilling the design experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of User Experience Designers to ensure design consistency across multiple concurrently developed applications.

• Conduct user research, including interviews and surveys, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that address user needs and business objectives.

• Collaborate with product management, developers, and other stakeholders to define and implement innovative design solutions.

• Document detailed user stories/requirements and coordinate cross-functional meetings.

• Guide developers to modify HTML, CSS, and JavaScript concepts to ensure alignment with designed experiences.

• Lead usability testing and iterate designs based on user feedback and analytics.

• Create executive-level presentations and report directly to the Agile Delivery Manager.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience..

• Expertise in UX design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar.

• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and advocate for the user.

• Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the energy or utility sector.

• Familiarity with Desing Thinking and Agile development processes.

• Certification in UX design or related disciplines.

• Process Improvements Six Sigma Certifications a plus.

Demonstrates both user interface and user experience concepts to product management
