We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grant Writer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing funding from federal and non-federal institutions, particularly in the life sciences field. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting MyOme's research initiatives by identifying funding opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, and managing the submission process.ResponsibilitiesResearch and identify potential funding sources from foundations, corporations, and government entities.Write and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, letters of support, budget, and other funding requests.Develop and maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, ensure timely submission of all proposals, Track and follow-up and communication with funders as needed.Communicate with MyOme colleagues and collaborators to gather necessary information and documentation for grant applications.Edit and proofread grant proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with funder requirements.Stay updated on current trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising.Reviewing proposal responses and other pertinent documents to ensure language is aligned with Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) requirements.Skills and ExperiencePhD degree in biology, genetics, bioinformatics, molecular biology or a related field is required.3+ years of grant writing experience, preferably in biology related areas.Familiarity with genetics, genomics, polygenic risk scores, molecular biology, or related fields is a plus.Proven track record of securing grant funding from foundations, corporations, and/or government sources.Experienced with a broad variety of both academic and industry grants.Experience working with grant writing companies is a plus.Strong grant writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Strong research skills and the ability to identify relevant funding opportunities.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Detail-oriented with great attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace required.Location, Compensation, and Benefits

$65-$100/hour depending on experience
