Sony Pictures Television is seeking a Director, Brand Marketing to oversee the development and execution of TV Series marketing campaigns. The role will oversee strategic planning, development and implementation of campaigns that deliver against business objectives, leading partners and agencies from ideation to execution.

This person will manage the end-to-end marketing process inclusive of strategic opportunity identification, consumer positioning, partnership programming, communication with key stakeholders, innovative thought leadership, campaign timelines, budget management, approvals, delivery of assets and tracking of metrics

Director Brand Marketing

Oversee several Brands (TV Series) and direct the strategic process from consumer insights (including collecting, analyzing and interpreting data) through to tactics and execution.

Develop brand briefs with actionable marketing goals and ensure all brand communication delivers against these goals.

Provide innovative insights, strategic thinking, management, conceptual development, and creative direction around brand projects to promote franchise growth.

Create and execute innovative, effective paid and earned consumer marketing strategies across all forms of media (traditional, digital/social, experiential, etc.) to build awareness/intent-to-view, deepen audience engagement and ultimately increase linear, VOD, EST, mobile and online viewing for SPT’s series.

Run point on assigned shows and manage efforts with all constituents within key operational windows including development, production, series premiere and sustain.

Lead brand-building initiatives and maximize ancillary revenue streams (Merch. & Licensing, Home Ent., Music) throughout the multi-windowed, multi-year lifespan of franchises.

Craft and inspire the creation of effective, breakthrough marketing initiatives and provide detailed direction for deliverables (trailers, sizzles, promos, art and social assets).

Provide analysis and measurement of results on key brand initiatives. This includes data collection, drawing inferences and recommendations.

Analyze the competitive landscape, partner marketing and industry trends and consumer behaviors, and apply learnings/best practices.

Determine how best to strategically spend show budgets and when (premiere, stunt episodes, midseason return, after hiatus, finale, etc.).

Manage individual show budgets and spends, ensuring tracking is accurate and up to date, that expenses and payments are executed with accuracy.

Be a Brand Expert and Central Resource for Key Stakeholders

Inform distribution partners, senior management, producers, and internal teams of marketing strategies and tactics (partner and SPT), creative assets (trailers, promos, key art) and rollout plans and key production story elements.

Producers

Develop and maintain trusting relationships with producers and be their go-to resource.

Lead kick-off meetings between producers and distribution partners to give marketing teams clear direction.

Distribution Partners

Establish partnership, collaborate, foster a sense of team and provide value to partners across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.

Understand partners’ mission, strategy, positioning, media, target audiences, scheduling, promotional partnerships, etc.

Reinforce, extend and enhance the distribution partners’ initiatives and be a vocal advocate for shows, respectfully challenging partners to guarantee maximum support.

Maintain and influence partnership relations regularly to build goodwill.

Internal Teams

Work with SPT’s cross-functional teams to initiate strong, company-wide collaboration to execute comprehensive and cohesive campaigns across multi-platform extensions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree

8-10 years of experience working in the entertainment industry and a strong passion for it

Interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, production teams, show producers and talent

Excellent written and verbal communication, project management and presentation skills

Knowledge of TV show lifecycles such as production, distribution, EST, DVD and SVOD

Self-starting with acute business acumen and organizational skills to create processes and procedures

Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and to facilitate and manage numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
