We’ve got what you’re looking for. Job Description:Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Terminal Refresh / CTA West Station Design Manager to join our team! In this role you will responsible for the delivery of all Terminal Refreshes in T2, T5, T6, T7 and the CTA West Station designs performed by various designers under different contracts. These scopes are combination of small interior renovations, departure level curbside upgrades and the creation of a warm vanilla shell on the 4th level of the APM West Station. The characteristics of the candidate shall include experience within large campus environments (aviation, transportation, higher education campuses, etc.). The individual shall be driven to support the design team and its leaders in their efforts and be proactive in expressing opinions of perceived betterment for the greater good of the project. Communication and organizational skills to be collaborative with many data points and people is highly desirable. This position is contingent upon client approval.What You'll Be Doing:Establishes and monitors procedures for engineering review activities to ensure they are done according to best practices and the design standards identified in the Contracts.Oversees design support management, scope of work management, design review and approval, permitting, agency coordination support, and building information modelling (BIM) coordination.Supports the Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 Project Manager in providing oversight of the tenants/design-builders designs including architectural, structural, mechanical electrical plumbing (MEP), civil, utilities, and IT disciplines per LAWA standards. The Terminal Refresh /CTA West Station Design Manager oversees the various design activities of the Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 project.The Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 & CTA West Station project addresses outdated interior finishes and poor illumination in terminals that did not receive significant upgrades during the recent terminal modernization projects. It covers Terminal 2 east pre-security and curbside, and some departure level canopies. Renewal of certain mechanical, electrical and plumbing assets may be included in the project. The CTA West Station scope is to prepare for the passenger movement when the Automated People Mover opens and prepare the new open space for a high end retail and dining environment.Overseeing the review and approval of technical documents (DRT process)Lending expertise to manage comment resolutionFacilitating meetings and be the technical liaison between the Developers/Design-Builders and TDIP Subject Matter Expert teamsWorking with the Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 Project Manager in defining, reviewing and/or approving design requirements, responsibilities and program consistencyProviding guidance to the Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 Project Manager should design requirements contained in the project documents not be clearly definedProviding technical review of changes to scope of work for each projectEstablishing submittal approval procedures and ensure uniformity of review approachAuditing project team comments and designer responsesMonitoring compliance with architectural and engineering guidelines for the Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 project ensuring consistency and quality in designMonitoring permitting information and the permitting process required by the design teamSupporting the Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 project manager to ensure design reviews are completed on time and within budgetDeveloping and maintaining the Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 project scope tracker to verify that all scope elements are accounted for and have been or will be assigned to a projectProviding guidance related to the functional requirements contained in the technical specifications or other project documents supplied by LAWAMonitoring BIM productions of all designers and contractors according to airport BIM Standards, the BIM Execution Plan, and needs of the Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 project. The Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 Design Manager is responsible for working with Central Building Information Management (cBIM) to develop the strategy for BIM implementation and reviewActing as technical liaison for the design review processes and comment resolution in coordination with the project manager and the Design Review Team (DRT)Providing technical support and coordination between the Terminal Refresh T2 T5 T6 T7 project team and other TDIP project teams for program consistency across all disciplinesProviding technical Support for adjacent LAWA projects as required to ensure accurate interfaceProviding technical coordination for project consistency across all disciplinesPreparing and reviewing briefings, meeting agendas, and supporting materials for various meetings including Board presentations, Steering Committee meeting, Stakeholder outreach, and other meetingsWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:10 years or more experience in managing the design of large, complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably on airport projectsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related field requiredProfessionally licensed Architect and/or Engineer preferredDesign management of complex aviation improvements experience requiredExperience managing a team of design professionalsExperience with projects more than $100 million in value.Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+ CMAR and Design/BuildProven ability to perform in a management capacityExcellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulationsMust have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilitiesMust be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgroundsMust be detail oriented and highly organizedWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and BluebeamFamiliarity with Project Management Information SystemsAbility to work in CAD or REVIT a plusMinimum Clearance Required to Start:Not Applicable/NoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 75 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
