She/he oversees marketing strategy and communication efforts to support graduate student recruitment and the graduate student experience. She/he identifies, assesses and oversees opportunities to ensure that CLAS Graduate Studies' key initiatives, key messages and strategic goals are clearly and consistently conveyed to appropriate constituencies and stakeholders across a wide range of communication channels, including print, digital and social networks. She/he collaborates with CLAS Graduate Studies leadership, faculty and staff to assess, identify and develop opportunities that enhance CLAS Graduate Studies' image and reputation as well as support its mission and strategic goals. In addition, she/he supports Villanova's media relations efforts to enhance CLAS Graduate Studies' reputation and to promote its programs. The individual selected must have the ability to handle a wide variety of projects in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment with the ability to work evenings, weekends and some holidays as the demands of the job dictate. Marketing Communications Development and Implementation In close collaboration with the with the Dean of Graduate Studies, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Director is responsible for strategic management of CLAS Graduate Studies' communication and marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with Villanova's brand. The Director oversees the implementation of marketing strategy in support of recruitment of graduate students. She/he collaborates with CLAS Graduate Studies leadership, faculty and staff to assess, identify and develop opportunities that enhance CLAS Graduate Studies' image and reputation as well as support its mission and strategic goals. She/he researches, writes, and edits across various communication platforms, including the website, publications, presentations, collateral materials, digital, social media and press releases, ensuring that CLAS Graduate Studies' key initiatives, messages, and value proposition are consistently conveyed to key constituencies and stakeholders. The Director manages Graduate Studies' marketing efforts to ensure that all materials align with University branding as well as CLAS Graduate Studies messaging. She/he also provides strategic communications support for the Dean of CLAS Graduate Studies. Reputation Management The Director establishes and maintains open communication and close working relationships with CLAS Graduate Studies faculty and staff to develop opportunities for visibility and to enhance the image and reputation of CLAS Graduate Studies. She/he collaborates with the Director of Communications, CLAS, and with University Communication Media Relations, to develop, plan, and coordinate proactive media relations plans to showcase aspects that differentiate Graduate Studies at CLAS and enhance its reputation. Coordinate with University Communicatio Functional Areas The Director serves as the primary liaison for Graduate Studies with the functional areas of the Office of University Communication and Marketing, including marketing, creative services, constituent publications, media relations and advancement communication to coordinate goals, programs and products. In collaboration with the CLAS Director of Communications, he/she connects CLAS Graduate Studies faculty and students with University resources for department-specific communications as needed; promotes the CLAS Graduate Studies' strategic initiatives for inclusion in VillanovaMagazine, University and College web pages, and University and College social media channels; and serve as a resource for CLAS Graduate Studies information and expertise as needed. Ad Hoc Duties The Director works with faculty on special communications projects, participates in joint communications projects university-wide, and performs communications duties as they arise. Performs additional duties and assists with special projects as assigned. * Bachelor's degree required. * The candidate must have more than 5 years of relevant experience. * The individual selected must have strong organizational and project management skills; oral and written communications skills; and interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be a self-starter who will proactively network, work collaboratively across the college and university, and seek out new and creative ways to strengthen the schools' reputation. She/he must have the ability to think strategically and creatively; handle changing priorities in a deadline sensitive environment; handle confidential information with a high level of discretion; work effectively with internal and external leaders, faculty, staff and administrators; and work independently as well as a proven team member. Must have the ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment. * The individual selected must have an understanding of marketing, advertising, and media relations strategies, digital communications and recruitment. He/She must have excellent writing, project management, and strategic communication skills, with a proven ability to oversee a variety of institutional publications. Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to maintain excellent internal/external relationships. The individual must be proficient in all standard computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat, as well as social media. * Degree preferably in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field. * Master's degree is a plus. * Experience with a preferred focus on marketing, communications, project management and writing. * Higher education, other non-profits or business experience is a plus.
