For more information, visit ucdenver.edu.Job Description* Applications are accepted electronically ONLY at www.cu.edu/cu-careers *The Program Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications is a key driver of enrollment marketing strategy and execution at the University of Colorado Denver.Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Digital Strategy in University Communications (UComm) with a dotted line to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (EM), this position helps to create, implement, measure, and continually improve enrollment marketing strategies and tactics in service of helping the campus meet and exceed its enrollment targets.The Program Director also plays a critical role in establishing and helping to execute the internal communications strategy for the broader Strategic Enrollment and Student Success (SESS) division to assist with knowledge sharing and integration across the division.

Enrollment and Marketing Communications Program DirectorWhat you will do:Enrollment Management MarComm Strategy Development, Measurement & Execution (30%):Using a collaborative approach, develops a strategic marketing plan to meet the recruitment goals outlined in the strategic enrollment management (SEM) plan. The program director's primary responsibility will be to focus on undergraduate first-time students and transfer students, but the program director will also provide strategic input and support for graduate enrollment marketing as appropriate.

Supports the student lifecycle through the development, cultivation, and delivery of a multi-faceted enrollment communication strategy.

Understands the competitive landscape, developing and recommending effective strategies to help recruit mission-aligned applicants to CU Denver.

In collaboration with UComm and EM, develops a comprehensive web and social media strategy for this area and for the broader SESS division, and helps to inform institutional social media content and channel strategies relating to student recruitment and retention. The program director will oversee the division-wide web strategy and will direct the Enrollment Management communications specialist in executing the strategy and making routine content updates.

Ensures Enrollment Management uses the most contemporary and effective approaches to reach prospective students and coordinates innovative communication initiatives through a variety of media including print, web, email, and social media.

Helps to analyze marketing performance data overlaying key enrollment outcomes to adjust strategy, identify new markets, etc.

Serves as a communications bridge between prospective students/families as they enroll and transition to new student/parent activities.

Coordinates with the Office of International Affairs to ensure alignment of messaging and marketing and communications activity.

Enrollment Management Message and Materials Development (30%):Responsible for creating and updating the messaging strategies for each target audience identified in the SEM plan.

Oversees the daily management of messages to target audiences in the enrollment funnel leveraging multiple channels and evaluating the effectiveness of outreach.

Oversees the development of print and static pieces to communicate the value of proposition of CU Denver to prospective students and families.

Ensures execution of communication strategies and tactics, plans, and goals based on demographic analysis, market research and other admissions data to align with strategic plans and enrollment goals.

Inspires, writes, and leads the development and creation of engaging communications that support the entirety of the enrollment funnel and support a multichannel marketing plan.

Strategic Internal Communications (30%)In collaboration with VC of Marketing and Communications and the senior leadership team in SESS, develops a yearlong internal communications strategy to inform, educate, and inspire the SESS division and the broader campus community about SESS priorities, achievements, and updates.

Drafts communications, including memos, talking points, stories, collateral, etc., to advance the communications goals of strategic enrollment and student success.

Helps to organize live events for internal audiences regarding SESS topics as appropriate and directed.

Oversees the editorial direction, story quality, and distribution of all newsletters and communications touching prospective and current students and parents.

In times of issues and crisis, works directly with UComm's public information officer (PIO) to plan and activate communications for prospective and current students and parents and other relevant audiences, as appropriate and directed. The program director will help coordinate the timing, frequency, channels, and messaging for communicating to these audiences and provide writing support as needed, and will also be an advocate for SESS-specific communications and considerations in these settings.

Management (5%)Supervises a specialist-level role supporting this work.

Helps manage the marketing and communications budget allocated for this work.

Other duties as assigned (5%)Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.

At least four years of experience designing and executing marketing and communication strategies.

At least one year of experience managing and/or mentoring team members.

One to three years of experience analyzing outcome data to make strategic decisions and/or recommendations.

Experience utilizing a CRM system, with experience in web, email marketing, and other technology platforms.

Strong written communication skills as evidenced by application materials.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.Substitution: A bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)Seven years of experience designing and executing marketing and communication strategies.

Ability to understand and apply current marketing and communications trends and make data-informed recommendations.

Conditions of EmploymentThis position requires an onsite presence on campus 3 days a week.
