Full-TimeEmployee Benefits:100% paid base coverage (Health, Vision, & Dental insurance).401(k)Paid HolidaysPaid SickPaid VacationEAP - Employee Assistance ProgramSynopsisThe Wayfinding Assistant Design Manager reports to the Wayfinding Design Manager and is responsible for supporting the delivery of all Wayfinding Enhancement Program designs that are being performed by various designers under different contracts. The candidate should have experience within large campus environments (aviation, transportation, higher education campuses, etc.). The individual should be driven to support the design team and its leaders and be proactive in expressing opinions for the greater good of the project. Strong communication and organizational skills are highly desirable.Project and Position DescriptionThe Wayfinding Asst. Design Manager monitors procedures for architectural and engineering review activities to ensure they are done according to best practices and the design standards identified in the Contracts. The Wayfinding Asst. Design Manager will support design management, scope of work management, design review and approval, permitting, agency coordination support, and building information modelling (BIM) coordination.Key Job DutiesOverseeing the review and approval of technical documents (DRT process)Lending expertise to manage comment resolutionFacilitating meetings and acting as the technical liaison between the Developers/Design-Builders and TDIP Subject Matter Expert teamsWorking with the Wayfinding Design Manager and Project Manager in defining, reviewing and/or approving design requirementsNotifying the Wayfinding Design Manager of any unclear design requirements in project documentsProviding technical review of changes to scope of work for each projectSupporting the Wayfinding Design Manager in establishing submittal approval proceduresAuditing project team comments and designer responsesMonitoring compliance with architectural and engineering guidelines for the Wayfinding Enhancement ProgramMonitoring permitting information and the permitting process required by the design teamSupporting the Wayfinding Design Manager to ensure design reviews are completed on time and within budgetProviding guidance related to the functional requirements contained in the technical specifications or other project documents supplied by LAWAMonitoring BIM productions of all designers and contractors according to LAWA BIM StandardsActing as technical liaison for the design review processes and comment resolutionProviding technical support and coordination for program consistency across all disciplinesProviding technical coordination for project consistency across all disciplinesAssisting the Wayfinding Design Manager with preparing and reviewing briefings, meeting agendas, and supporting materials for various meetingsHardware/Software KnowledgeProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and BluebeamFamiliarity with Project Management Information SystemsAbility to work in CAD or REVIT is a plusProfessional Experience Level/Other Qualifications10 years or more experience in managing the design of large, complex building projectsDesign management of complex aviation improvements experience requiredExperience managing a team of design professionalsExperience with projects more than $25 million in valueExperience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/BuildProven ability to perform in a management capacityExcellent written and oral communication skillsMust have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focusMust be detail oriented and highly organizedEducation/TrainingBachelor's or master's degree in architecture, Engineering, and/or related field requiredProfessionally licensed Architect and/or Engineer preferredElement-Specific Requirements/NotesMay assume other duties as required/neededMay be required to work past regular work shiftMay be required to work various shifts as neededPlease note, if you move forward in the submission process, you will be asked to provide the following:Most updated resumeCertifications or Licenses obtained3-4 Professional ReferencesProject List with values, dates, and company of any projects workedO2EPCM, Inc.
