The VCA Product & Experience Design (PxD) and Digital practice is looking for a Director of research to help Visa’s network of clients accelerate their innovation agenda and transform their customerexperience. This role is client facing. This individual will be responsible for selling, delivering and implementing high value consultingprojects with a diverse set of clients.The individual should be able to work collaboratively across design, research, and technology. ThePxD team adopts a holistic approach to product design that begins with the customer and rapidlyiterates solutions to deliver customer experiences that are simple, powerful, and exceptional. A high volume of applicants is expected for the role as detailed below, do not wait to send your CV.ResponsibilitiesLead client engagements end-to-end (from selling, scoping, research, client delivery and go to-market)Take leadership of project, team, and client relationship when needed.Provide guidance and oversight for junior team members assigned on project (e.g, Analyst &Manager) assigning specific tasks, defining timeline, and reviewing deliverables.Coordinate support and inputs required from Visa Sales team, senior team members and VisaSMEs.Active facilitation of co-creation in person & virtual workshops.Work with clients and interdisciplinary teams of product, research and design in thedevelopment of new products, using a digital-first mindset and the contemporary productmanagement techniques of digital native companies (e.g., human centered design, minimumviable product, rapid prototyping, etc.Lead synthesis and summarizing of content for executive audiences.Define, design, and execute qualitative research (e.g., format, scope, candidate, interviewguides, survey content, etc.)Articulate the desirability, viability and feasibility of recommendations. This includes craftingthe story of how the design recommendation fits into a company’s overall strategy, theunderlying business model, and any implementation risks.Energize and improve the status quo using creativity and intelligent, calculated risks todeliver new products and processes that surpass clients’ expectations, demonstrating newmethods, capabilities, and mindsets.Essential FunctionsMust have a mindset that embraces creativity, optimism, ambiguity and failing-fastProven ability to work on complex and often ambiguous problems, to drive resultsAnalytical thinker, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellentpresentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilitiesMust have a client-first mentality and demonstrate maturity when interacting and leadingclient workshopsExcellent project management skills, organization, and ability to manage multipleworkstreams at the same timeThis is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined byleadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based onbusiness needs.Basic Qualifications:12 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with anAdvanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD or PhD)Preferred Qualifications:At least 10+ years of work experience, including experience in a role with responsibility forsizing, scoping of design research, analysis, reporting and client management for complex responsibility for sizing, scoping of design research, analysis, reporting and client management for complex qual & quant research projects.Experience in planning, conducting, synthesis for, and final delivery of generative/exploratoryresearch activities such as interviews, personas, focus groups, diary studies, ethnographicstudies, design ideation workshops, and customer journey mapping as well as evaluative research activities such as analytics and moderated and unmoderated user performancetesting.Analytical thinker, creatively confident, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilitiesHave a growth mindset that embraces creativity, optimism, ambiguity and failing-fastComfortable interacting, interviewing and iterating with people through exploration of new concept, prototyping (low and high) and testingStrategy or innovation or digital consulting experience a plusPayments industry/fintechs/digital tech experience or similar relevant experience a plusProduct design/development experience, with a focus on innovative product developmentAbility to be client-facing, specifically to design, facilitate and execute on complex clientengagementsWork Hours:

This position will be performed in an office setting. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
