Job Summary:
The Social Media Coordinator, reporting to the Director of Social Media, will develop and implement social media content to drive social media engagement and program registrations for our Craig Newmark Civic Life Series programs. This role requires a deep understanding of various social media platforms, their algorithms, and trends. The ideal candidate will excel in content creation for platforms like Instagram and TikTok, and is a super user of analytics, design and video editing tools. The Craig Newmark Civic Life Series features lectures and conversations with leading experts exploring pro-democracy efforts at this critical moment in the US and around the world. With 2024 being a critical election year, both domestically and globally, this series, supported by Craig Newmark Philanthropies, will showcase prominent voices discussing topics important to our local, state and national elections and their broader implications for democracy in the US and worldwide. Job Responsibilities Include: Develop and curate engaging and creative content reflecting the 92NY brand voice across various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Mastodon and Threads). Engage with our audience, identifying positive moments for strategic PR opportunities and addressing any negative posts that present a potential risk to the brands image. Write compelling social media copy for posts aimed at boosting engagement, promoting initiatives, and fostering communication with our social media followers. Manage high volume of daily social media posts. Monitor and evaluate feedback and online reviews, providing insightful reports on trends and sentiment. Set and implement social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies. Provide engaging text, image, and video content for social media accounts. Respond promptly and appropriately to comments and inquiries from patrons. Stay up to date with digital technology, social media and emerging new trends within each platform. Maintain an organized content calendar. Utilize analytics tools to generate reports to analyze social media metrics and data trends. Experience, Education, & Skills Desired:
Bachelor's Degree 2-3 years experience in a social media role. Exceptional writing skills that inspire action. Design skills to create giphys, memes and videos. Proficient in Canva, Adobe or social media, graphic design, video production tools. Experience with social media analytics tools like Sprout Social. Passionate about 92NY and Newmark Civic Life Series programming. Organized, proactive, and adaptable with strong time management. Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced environment, adept at juggling multiple projects and meeting deadlines with enthusiasm. Strong focus on exceptional customer service within a team-oriented culture and effectively communicating vision and culture to various stakeholders. Must have a laptop. We will supply the tools (ie. Sprout, Social, Repost, Later).
Work Environment & Requirements: Work Hours and Environment 16.5 hours per week; schedule to be worked out with manager. Per Diem Compensation $30/hour The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
