ABOUT THE ROLE The Social Media Associate, Life plays a key role in increasing the online presence, driving engagement, and expanding the reach of our brand across social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and more. Focused primarily on lifestyle inspired content, you’ll be responsible for producing engaging posts, interacting with our vibrant community of enthusiasts, and analyzing social media performance metrics. Your role will also involve creating content that tells compelling, inspiring stories—from ideation and capturing the perfect shot to editing videos that resonate with our audience. With a strong affinity for personal storytelling, you’ll engage our community by bringing real-life moments and experiences to life across channels. While your primary focus will be on Food52, you may also assist with other brands in the lifestyle space as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Platform Expertise:

Develop a deep understanding of social media platforms, including TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, and more. Stay ahead of the latest trends, platform updates, and algorithms specific to each channel, especially those relevant to lifestyle and wellness communities. Content Creation:

Craft content that reflects the lifestyle ethos of Food52 and its sub-brands, like Schoolhouse and Dansk. You'll produce a wide range of content, from how-to videos and wellness tips to personal moments that connect with our audience. This involves shooting and editing high-quality content, while telling authentic, engaging stories that align with the brand’s voice. Content Scheduling and Posting:

Maintain an organized content calendar to ensure posts are published at peak engagement times. You'll take ownership of scheduling and coordinating across platforms, ensuring content reaches the right audience at the right time. Cross-Platform Management:

Manage content strategies across diverse social platforms, understanding the unique qualities of each one. Tailor your approach to engage different audience segments, whether it's Pinterest’s visual inspiration seekers or TikTok’s fast-paced, trend-driven crowd. Analytics and Reporting:

Regularly track and analyze social media performance, providing key insights to drive optimization. Use analytics tools to measure engagement, audience growth, and the effectiveness of content across all platforms, adjusting strategies in real-time to enhance results. Community Engagement:

Actively interact with our audience, responding to comments, messages, and mentions. Foster a positive community by encouraging thoughtful conversations around topics that inspire the lifestyle and wellness interests of our followers. Campaign Support:

Work closely with the marketing and creative teams to execute social media strategies that align with larger marketing campaigns. Help create and promote lifestyle-centric campaigns that resonate with Food52’s values and mission. Product Integration:

Thoughtfully integrate new products, life-hacks, wellness tips, and trending stories into your content, driving engagement and sales in a way that feels authentic and relevant to our audience’s lifestyle needs. Whitelisting/Boosting Content:

Manage the paid social efforts by boosting top-performing content, working with budget and targeting strategies to reach an even wider, highly engaged audience. Brand Partnership Execution:

Collaborate with brand partnership account managers to execute lifestyle-focused brand collaborations, ensuring seamless integration across social platforms. Brand Representation:

Serve as a true ambassador for Food52’s Life brand identity, ensuring all content reflects our core values and resonates with lifestyle and wellness-driven audiences. Collaboration and Teamwork:

Engage with the editorial, creative, and marketing teams to brainstorm and develop innovative social media strategies. Bring fresh perspectives and ideas to collaborative sessions, working cross-functionally to create dynamic campaigns. Event Content Coverage:

Represent the brand at relevant events (wellness-focused, lifestyle events, etc.), capturing organic content for use across social platforms—photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes moments that resonate with our audience. QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of experience in social media, digital media, e-commerce, or at an agency, with proven success across platforms like TikTok, Pinterest, and Instagram in the lifestyle, wellness, or lifestyle content space. In-depth knowledge of how lifestyle and wellness content performs across social media platforms, with a deep understanding of platform-specific algorithms and audience behaviors. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to shifting priorities, and meet deadlines. Comfort and experience filming high-quality content using an iPhone or professional cameras, ensuring visual storytelling excellence. Proficiency with video editing tools (Capcut, Premiere, or others) to produce engaging video content that connects with a lifestyle-centric audience. Familiarity with social media management tools such as Dash Hudson, Buffer, or Sprout Social. Strong skills in design platforms like Adobe Suite, Figma, and Canva for producing visually captivating posts and stories. A genuine passion for lifestyle content and wellness topics, with an ability to authentically connect with an audience both on-camera and through voiceovers. A creative mindset, with the ability to identify emerging trends, curate viral content, and drive engagement by analyzing metrics and fine-tuning strategies. Excitement to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, embracing shifting priorities while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a positive, engaging way. Previous experience working on lifestyle or wellness-related brand partnerships and creating paid content is a plus. Must provide a portfolio or link to past work, showcasing your ability to create engaging, lifestyle-focused content. COMPENSATION The target pay range for this role is between $60,000 to $70,000.
