General Information:

The College of Integrated Science and Engineering (CISE) seeks a Social Media Coordinator for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Social Media Coordinator is instrumental in creating compelling content that promotes CISE and its programs, highlights student and faculty achievements, showcases innovative research and projects, increases brand awareness, and manages the College's social media presence across various platforms.This position offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional setting while building a professional portfolio.

HoursApproximately 7-10 hours per weekFlexible hours, evenings and weekends are required to cover events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create engaging and visually appealing content (including text, images, and videos) for CISE social media channels.• Assist in managing and monitoring CISE social media accounts to ensure consistent branding and messaging.• Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally.• Help develop and execute social media campaigns to promote CISE programs, events, and initiatives.• Track social media metrics and provide reports on engagement, reach, and effectiveness of content.• Work closely with the CISE marketing team, faculty, and students to gather content and ensure alignment of organizational goals and objectives.• Effectively manage time and meet deadlines, even while working remotely.• Utilize a project management system to ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and visual storytelling• Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (scheduling software, analytics)• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines• Experience with graphic design, photography, or videography is a plus• Interest in science, technology, engineering, or related fields preferred

Conditions of Employment:

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).

Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
