Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Specialist for our Portland facility. The Marketing & Communications Specialist provides a wide range of support to the Manager/Director including, but not limited to, writing, digital content management (website and social media), internal and external communications, photography, video and some graphic design.

Responsibilities

Strategic CommunicationsWrite and post content for SHC websites, location intranet and social media channelsResearch, create and write patient stories and other content to support marketing, donor relations and business developmentCreate digital content and execute location and system-wide strategyAssist Manager/Director with internal communications where applicableOrganize and facilitate hospital tours related to Marcom events and programsFollow AP style and SHC identity standardsResearch, write and distribute press releases and media advisoriesCollaborative Communications

Organize and facilitate hospital tours related to MarCom events and programsActs as media escort within facilityManage and/or facilitate patient ambassador programsAssist Manager/Director with Shriners International temple relationsWork with other departments and medical staff to solicit storiesAssist with planning and implementation of facility education, informational, social and special events such as public celebrations, celebrity and VIP visits and others as requestedEnsure confidentiality and patient privacy during tours, events and media visitsPresent to Shriners International temples, community organizations or groups as directed by Manager/DirectorDepartmental Support

Manage multiple projectsUpload photos, videos and consents to Digital Assets Management systemResearch media outlets and maintain current media contact list, using media monitoring platformEncourage enthusiasm, positive morale and teamwork among employeesGeneral office duties including, but not limited to, answering phones, filing, inventory of marketing collateral, meeting minutesQualifications

Experience:

1 year of marketing/communications/public relations required1 year of writing and editing experience requiredCorrect use of spelling, grammar and punctuation requiredMedia relations experience requiredAbility to management multiple projects requiredMS Office Suite proficiency requiredExperience with social media content management systems such as Hootsuite requiredSalesforce Marketing Cloud/email marketing CRM experience preferredAdobe Creative Cloud knowledge preferredBilingual skills (English + second language) preferredEducation:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communications, Public Relations or Journalism requiredIn addition to the experience and educaitno requirements, the ideal candidate will possess the following abilities and competencies:
