PURPOSE:

The Director reports to the CEO and is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the organization's nationwide sales and marketing activity. The Director shall work with the senior leadership team to create and implement marketing, communication and sales strategies that grow top line revenue by promoting Allied's products as well as the core strengths and capabilities of the company, developing a strong marketing and sales team, supporting constant improvement in the technology platforms and operational systems that manage the marketing and sales process, and strive consistently to protect and grow the Allied National and 90 Degree Benefits brands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develop complete knowledge of Allied's market, products, and competition.

a. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and competition within the marketplace.

b. Develop an in-depth understanding of Allied-marketed products along with their respective underwriting and enrollment requirements and ensure that knowledge is instilled in the team.

c. Understand the fundamentals of employer-sponsored plans as well as stop loss insurance and regulations and ow the drive our marketing strategy.

2. In conjunction with the CEO, develop short and long-term sales marketing goals, a sales and marketing budget, and a sales compensation strategy that encourage growth and service.

3. Develop comprehensive marketing and sales strategies aligned with overall business objections. Analyze market trends, customer insights, and the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and set goals. Review technology needs related to sales and marketing that drive growth and service. Develop and implement a comprehensive and cost-effective multi-channel marketing strategy to drive awareness of and demand for Allied-marketed products. Marketing channels include, but are not limited to, email, digital/web, social, and industry events and trade shows as well as leveraging enterprise resources, such as 90 Degree Benefits marketing and sales resources.

4. Manage and lead the Marketing & Sales and Communications team to ensure consistent messaging and brand positioning. Develop and implement a multi-channel marketing strategy to stimulate sales through general agents and broker relationships. Drive exceptional service and growth, set sales targets, establish sales processes, and implement strategies to drive sales growth. Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data and identify areas for improvement.

5. Identify, develop and grow distribution channel relationships and partnerships.

a. Establish and sustain trusted working relationships with key agency principles and general agents.

b. Conduct agent webinars/seminars for marketing and educational purposes. Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding and training programs for new-to-Allied agents and general agents.

c. Define and implement an agent and agency compensation model that incents growth and long-term partnerships.

d. Oversee and monitor renewal strategies to maximize group retention while achieving underwriting objectives.

6. Create a high-performing sales and marketing team that partners externally and internally to drive exceptional service and growth.

a. Recruit, interview, hire, train and direct the sales and marketing staff.

b. Create and maintain job descriptions for all staff members. Provide training as needed for new and existing staff.

c. Complete employee evaluations according to company guidelines. Discuss evaluation with employee in a manner that motivates them to reach their potential for maximum job performance.

d. Counsel with individual employees concerning performance, personnel issues, etc. and establish corrective measures as necessary. Resolve and/or direct questions or problems from staff members.

7. In conjunction with the CEO and the leadership team, review sales related technology needs and develop short and long-term technology strategies that drive growth and service.

8. Collaborate with other departments to align marketing and sales strategies with overall business objectives. Ensure coordination between departments to drive customer-centric processes and enhance customer experience.

9. Analyze marketing and sales metrics using key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns. Provide reports and updates to the leadership team on marketing and sales performance.

10. Develop marking and sales budgets to ensure resources are allocated effectively. Monitor expenses, manage vendor relationships, and optimize the return on investment for marketing and sales initiatives.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum five years of supervisory/management level marketing experience in the Group and Health market.

2. Must hold current Life and Health Agent's license.

3. Minimum five years' field and brokerage experience.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to direct and motivate the department toward company objectives.

5. Ability to analyze market trends, competitors, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and informed decision making.

6. Financial acumen to manage department budgets, analyze return on investment, and make data driven decisions.

7. Ability to adapt to an evolving business environment and lead teams through change.

8. Bachelor's degree in business or marketing is preferred.

9. Ability to speak English fluently with demonstrated presentation skills. Ability to listen to clients, express self clearly and courteously, respond with patience, confidence, and accurate information.

10. Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and give written or verbal English instructions.

11. Ability to travel via airline or automobile approximately 20 percent of time. Must have a valid Driver's License, own vehicle and maintain vehicle insurance.

12. Ability to meet company attendance requirements.

13. Ability to withstand the stress of meeting deadlines and departmental objectives, phone calls from irate agents, and employee disciplinary action.

14. Ability to sit/stand at workstation for extended periods. Ability to stand for extended periods while exhibiting during presentations and/or conventions.

15. Ability to lift and transport 25 lbs.

Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with agents, employer groups, and employees. Must have creative ability to develop and oversee implementation of Marketing campaigns. Interpersonal skills are necessary to work in a harmonious manner with staff members, vendors, and management. Excellent communication skills are required to support and supervise employees and build agent relationships. Analytical ability is necessary to analyze data and trends in the marketplace and find creative ways to effectively market Allied's products to agents.
