About Our Opportunity

We are seeking an Associate Product Designer/Sr. Product Designer to work in the Philadelphia Corporate office. The Associate Product Designer/Sr. Product Designer will work in conjunction with the Product Development team to design and develop new product lines. This position will require continuous market research and an extensive knowledge and understanding of retail trends, materials, technologies, merchandising etc. It is anticipated that, in performing the assigned duties, the Product Designer will demonstrate invention, imagination, originality, and/or talent in a recognized field of artistic or creative endeavor.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and illustrate new product lines to include tableware, balloons, favors, décor, wearables, pinatas, gift bags, giftwrap, and more.Develop and implement new product ideas.Develop artwork purchased or licensed by outside artists.Design generic, private label or licensed ensembles with minimal supervision.Learn about our licensed properties to create designs which follow the licensor’s guidelines.Understand and prepare art files in 4 to 6 colors (both 4 color process and spot color) which will be turned over to the production team for final artwork production.Assist with mock-ups when necessary.Stay current with design trends in the marketplace within the party category and related fields.Help train/mentor Assistant Product Designers.Continue to update computer skills and experiment with new software updates and programs.Responsible for maintaining and organizing computer files. Delete/archive files as necessary.Perform other related duties as required and assigned.Qualifications

Must be extremely organizedStrong verbal and written communication skillsSome understanding of creative processes, including creative production, is a plusMust have a high level of comfort working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven cultureHigh school diploma or its equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree from a four-year art college or university preferred.2 years of related experience and/or training required; 3 or more years preferred.Previous experience designing any of the following categories is preferred: party goods, tableware, favors, activities, wearables, toys, stationery, décor, gifts, and/or activity products.Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
