Communications Marketing Manager

Summary

ACA is seeking a Communications Marketing Manager to join its Communications team. In this newly created role, the successful candidate will have experience executing effective social media and email marketing strategies while working collaboratively in a team environment. The Communications Marketing Manager role requires a creative, strategic thinker with the ability to develop fresh, executable ideas with measurable outcomes that can be reported to internal and external stakeholders to inform their decision-making processes.

The Communications Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development of email marketing and social media strategies to extend the association's member engagement and presence across varied media platforms. This individual will work closely with members of the Communications team, including writers, editors, graphic designers, and the web administrator, to develop goals, strategies, and implementation plans for execution of integrative and successful marketing and social media campaigns. This role also offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with other ACA divisions, including Membership, Events, and Government Affairs to grow and raise the profile of the industry and ACA.

ACA is a voluntary, nonprofit organization working to advance the needs of the paint and coatings industry and the professionals who work in it. Through advocacy of the industry and its positions on legislative, regulatory, and judicial issues at the federal, state and local levels, it acts as an effective ally ensuring that the industry is represented and fairly considered. The association focuses on advancements in science and technology through its technical conferences and journals and offers essential business information to members through its publications, surveys, and business programs.

Responsibilities

Email MarketingDesign email communications marketing campaigns aligned with association's messaging and goals, including content creationProvide regular performance reports on campaign analytics, including metrics such as opens, clicks, conversions, unsubscribesDevelop strategies to increase engagement and brand awareness of ACAManage and execute email marketing calendar, ensuring alignment with the association's priority plans and internal stakeholdersUse customer data, such as web behavior, to personalize messages and contentDevise and execute A/B tests; manage testing calendar, record results, and advise on improvementsPerform render testing to ensure email designs render correctly across email and browser platformsRecommend improvements for current email communications and marketing efforts, including trends in email marketing strategies, best practices, and innovative tactics, as well as new technologies, tools, and partnersSocial Media

Develop shared objectives and vision for ACA's social media presence, based on the association's branding, advocacy, and communications messagingCreate social media calendar, collaborating with members of the Communications teamManage and post content to social media, monitoring engagement activities to gauge effectiveness and levels of engagementIdentify opportunities, including ad buys and boosts, to grow reachMonitor social media trends and suggest modifications to ACA's social strategy to align with Communications' objectivesAssess new and emerging social channels and technologies, and develop strategies to leverage these opportunitiesOther Projects

Integrate skillset with other ACA Communications and external division effortsProvide support and recommendations for developing new digital mediaReport to internal stakeholders on success of their email marketing and social outreach effortsPreferred Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferredAt least three years of proven experience in communications and digital marketing, preferably with an associationClear and effective written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitaskComprehensive knowledge of established social media channelsExperience with email marketing platforms, analytics and preparing summary data for analysis; Experience with Pardot, a plusStrong interest in building digital and social media content to enrich membership experienceAbility to distill complex information into concise, clear content suitable for digital communicationsKnowledge of current SEO best practices, Google Analytics and HTML requiredKnowledge of Canva, CapCut, and FinalCutProKnowledge of WordPress, CSS, Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Digital Publishing Suite preferredKnowledge of internet regulations and data privacy and standards, including FTC regulations related to digital marketing and social media required

Location and Travel

This position is located at ACA headquarters in Washington, DC and will operate within a hybrid work environment (working both onsite and remotely). This position require travel for work events within the United States a few times per year.

Employment, Salary and Benefits

This is a fulltime, regular position. Salary is dependent on experience, but on estimate can range from $66,160 to $82,700.
