Job Summary:

The Lead Interior Designer is responsible for overseeing the design process for interior spaces, ensuring that projects are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and meet the client's needs. This role involves managing design teams, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Project Management

:

Oversee the entire design process from concept to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Client Interaction

:

Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints.

Present design concepts and proposals to clients, incorporating their feedback into the final design.

Design Development

:

Create and develop design concepts that meet the client's requirements and adhere to design principles.

Produce detailed design drawings, specifications, and material selections.

Team Leadership

:

Lead and manage a team of interior designers and other design professionals.

Delegate tasks, provide guidance, and ensure that team members are working effectively towards project goals.

Coordination and Collaboration

:

Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of interior designs with overall project plans.

Collaborate with other designers and professionals to create cohesive and functional designs.

Material and Product Selection

:

Select and specify materials, furniture, fixtures, and finishes that align with the design concept and project requirements.

Ensure that selected materials and products meet quality and safety standards.

Budget Management

:

Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled, and expenditures are tracked.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate with suppliers and vendors.

Quality Control

:

Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that all design work meets industry standards and project specifications.

Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor the progress of design implementation and address any issues.

Regulatory Compliance

:

Ensure that designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and accessibility standards.

Obtain necessary permits and approvals for design work.

Presentation and Documentation

:

Prepare and present design proposals, mood boards, and 3D renderings to clients and stakeholders.

Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and change orders.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Architecture, or Fine Arts from an accredited University

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in commercial interior space design for large facility or building projects (new and renovations), management of multiple interior space designs and space optimization projects.

Extensive experience in interior design, with a proven track record of managing design projects from concept to completion.

Strong design skills, with proficiency in creating visually appealing and functional interior spaces.

Proficiency in design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or other industry-standard software.

Strong project management abilities, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present design concepts and interact with clients and stakeholders.

High level of attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy in design work.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address design challenges and issues.

High level of creativity and innovation to develop unique and appealing design solutions.

Strong client focus, with the ability to understand and meet client needs and preferences.

Experience with the major systems furniture lines such as Knoll, Haworth, Steelcase, Herman Miller and UNICOR.

Proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) such as AutoCAD is required.

Experience working with systems furniture.
