$60/hr. - $65/hr.Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).Requirements:Typical Day in the Role:* Purpose of the Team: The team is the design studio for all of Viva.* Key projects: This role will contribute to working on Vival goals* Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 25% meetings and 75% heads down.Candidate Requirements:* Years of Experience Required: 6-7 overall years of experience in the field.* Degrees or certifications required: minimum of bachelor's degree and extensive hands-on experience is required to be eligible for this role, master's degree preferred. An advanced degree in HCI (human-computer interaction), market research, human factors, psychology, or a related field with a strong emphasis on research techniques and understanding humans / designing technology to meet their needs, or a BA/BS in one of these fields with significant industry experience* Disqualifiers: Candidates with lack of research experience will not be eligible for the role.* Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain prior MSFT experience and B2B experience, but NOT mandatory. Experience with AI related product solutions would be a plus, Qualitative evaluative research experience and UX Health research (e.g. Heuristic Reviews, Experience Reviews, iterative Usability testing)* Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work, meeting deadlines, executing on research needs.Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience1. Minimum 6-7 years' experience with conducting B2B UX research2. Minimum 6-7 years' experience with qualitative research skills (devising and evaluating methods and procedures for collecting data, deriving insights from quantitative and qualitative data etc),3. Minimum 6-7 years' experience with compiling, synthesizing and presenting and socializing research insights to create impact.This role is for an experienced planning and usability researcher who can work independently with guidance to support foundational research and evaluative design usability testing. This role supports Viva Goals which is the cross suite solution area of the Viva Employee Experience product. The position is located within the Viva Studios Design team, which is part of the Experiences & Devices Engineering Organization.Job Responsibilities:* Conduct B2B UX research on a range of target users including individual employees, People leaders (execs, senior leaders, managers), IT Admins/Managers, and HR / Data analysts.* Work directly with Design and Product Management partners on key priority design projects from early-stage foundational user research to iterative design evaluations.* Perform ongoing UX Health studies to evaluate if design-built experiences are at the appropriate level for release to engineering.* Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data, such as moderated and unmoderated interviews, group discussions, and surveys.* Derive insights from quantitative and qualitative data, complementing other research that you will conduct on your own or in partnership with other researchers and stakeholders* Work priorities aligned directly to needs of design team.Ideal Education/Experience:* Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on research and/or product planning experience, with demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data to improve plans and UX in a technology industry setting* Track record of operating independently, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner.* Experience in presenting and socializing research insights.* Experience with AI related product solutions would be a plus.* An advanced degree in HCI (human-computer interaction), market research, human factors, psychology, or a related field with a strong emphasis on research techniques and understanding humans / designing technology to meet their needs, or a BA/BS in one of these fields with significant industry experience* Qualitative foundational research experience to understand and build out user role needs, jobs to be done, and challenges.* Qualitative evaluative research experience and UX Health research (e.g. Heuristic Reviews, Experience Reviews, iterative Usability testing)* Business To Business research experience is a key requirement in this role* You are eager to learn and understand about user audiences, their behaviors, context(s) and motivations across all phases of the customer lifecycle and user journey* Can demonstrate strong empathy for these users while balancing the vision and constraints of stakeholders* Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment that requires independent time management, task prioritization, and flexibility* Verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal partnering skills.* Experience building strong collaborative relationships with peers and stakeholdersBenefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm providing unique solutions supporting value capture and digital product delivery needs for organizations around the world.
