As the game designer / creative director, you will be responsible for the gameplay of our strategy game. You will have a direct impact and influence on Curio’s first core product.
Want to apply Read all the information about this position below, then hit the apply button.ResponsibilitiesDefine, communicate, and be accountable for the creative vision of the project including the core loop, F2P mechanics, social features, and IP development.Work closely with the engineering team to ensure implementation correctness and quality.Distill the team’s strategic goals for the team, ensuring they are reflected in product decisions.Be proactive in coming up with creative ideas.Work with the team to synthesize feedback from testers and iterate efficiently on the game.QualificationsStrong understanding of free-to-play and multiplayer systems.Experience with 4X strategy and/or SLG mechanisms and MMO economy design.Strong at providing feedback that empowers team members to produce their best work.Understand the tradeoffs between game features and engineering complexities when necessary.Shipped a well-performing digital free-to-play and/or strategy game.Broad knowledge in NFTs, crypto games, and DeFi.Understanding of limitations or tradeoffs of crypto, such as throughput and gas cost.Proficiency in traditional game development workflows with Unity and/or Unreal Engine.Technical experience in game engineering and high-throughput systems.You can join us in person in our San Francisco office.An assembly of creatives chasing the next paradigm of gaming through crypto as a medium.
