Join us to invest in yourself, your career, and the financial world.The roleAs a Director of Design, you will have an opportunity to imagine the future of personal finance, drive new initiatives, set a high standard for excellence across the design organization, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary set of stakeholders and leadership. Your primary responsibility will consist of overseeing work across our suite of loan products. Additionally, you'll be responsible for collaborating horizontally to connect opportunities across our larger product suite to ensure a cohesive member experience.As a leader across Research & Design, you'll also have critical responsibilities to help grow the organization through establishing best practices, coaching, mentoring, and driving team-building activities. You'll often collaborate with other Research & Design leaders as well as Marketing & Brand creative leaders to cultivate a strong creative community and culture.SoFi has achieved significant growth in a short period of time. Our ambitious plans will only continue with the addition of great talent and that starts with you.What you'll do:Define the design strategy for our Transactional Product suiteCollaborate with key partners including Product, Engineering, Business, Marketing & OpsStrategize on roadmaps and priorities with key cross-functional leadersEnsure strong design practices from concept to launch, resulting in high quality, polished launches.Model strong communication skills and ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders.Leverage data and research investigations to build strong points of view on product directionCollaborate directly with the Research & Design Leaders to ensure a coherent single SoFi experience, beyond your primary product & feature areas.Spearhead critical efforts in process, craft and executionMentor, inspire, and grow members of the larger Research & Design team

What you'll need:12+ years of experience successfully shipping products and features from start to finish5+ years leading teams of designersEntrepreneurial mindset and passion for building a businessAble to effectively communicate design solutions to all audiences, inclusive of executive leadership & the C-suiteStrong project planning, time management, and collaboration skillsAble to deeply understand business goals and outcomes by leveraging the use of data analytics, user testing, and research to inform and validate design decisions and focus on constant improvementExpert in best practices in UX, design, and information architecture across responsive Web, iOS & AndroidExperience with current design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)Experience working in an Agile development environment using tools like Jira and ConfluenceA portfolio URL or PDF to submit with the application with examples of mobile and responsive web product design

Nice to have:Experience working in the personal finance spaceExperience working in both marketing and product design settings

Compensation and BenefitsThe base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
