Designer (Home Furnishings ) is a key member of the Product Development Department, responsible for bringing innovative yet timeless design within Caracole's ethos of Sensory, Elegant, and Hopeful. The primary role is to be involved in all phases of the design process, from inspiration, and initial visual ideation to full working Drawings and follow through to the final working sample. The Lead designer will have a higher level of design understanding and can translate those principles into products within Caracole's Ethos.ResponsibilitiesManaging and designing new and innovative products within the brand's ethos across multiple categories consistent with the direction of the company's customer and business needs.Managing assigned design process through its entire lifecycle, from concept and ideation stages, through visual ideations to development drawings to be sent to the vendor for final sample review.Collaborating with the design team in product development to ensure the highest quality standards.Seeking inspiration and new design concepts through trend analysis, identifying opportunities for new materials and category expansion for residential and commercial settings.Working with the Marketing department to help with passing product information for exact representation for final publication to print.An understanding of the competitive field; research brands, pricing, and trends.Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with designers within and outside the company.Required Skills & QualificationsB.A. bachelor's degree or equivalent related. experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.AutoCAD proficiency, knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word).Excellent Visual development through drawing and or 3D digital format.Excellent organizational and communicational skills.Self-motivated and able to work independently.Demonstrate a passion for design excellence with a strong sense of innovation.High level of attention to detailAbility to travel domestically and internationally independently and with team members.Helps create a positive and passionate work environment.Preferred SkillsState the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job. These are the qualifications necessary for someone to be considered for the position.AutoCAD Proficiency.Extensive knowledge of furniture construction.Strong understanding of the properties of materials.
