Closing Date:07/28/2024SummaryAs a graphic artist, design and typeset camera-ready artwork starting from thumb sketch or verbal idea within a Print Shop environment and according to district standards/branding for a high-quality end product. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as, district policies, procedures, and regulations.

Essential Functions1. Develop, execute, and produce graphics for the district's external and internal communications under the supervision of the Print Shop Supervisor, utilizing digital publishing software.2. Assist with the development, communication, and implementation of district branding guidelines.3. Typeset forms, business cards, and other district materials for further operations.4. Design single and multicolor brochures and posters, to include layout of publications utilizing Adobe Creative Suite.5. Determine the most effective font style, ink color, and paper type for ease of reading and theme of project.6. Maintain confidentiality of Print Shop practices, customers, and requests; maintain confidentiality of printed jobs and department/campus of origin; maintain confidentiality of personnel and information accessible in area assigned.7. Meet with customers and create or recreate projects for printing, as required.8. Prioritize tasks and meet all deadlines for preparation and submission of artwork.9. Demonstrate initiative, good judgment, common sense, accuracy, and good communication skills with personnel from various entities within the district.10. Maintain equipment and advise supervisor of needed supplies.11. Assist with other Print Shop functions as needed, including poster binding; collating; booklet binding; and using a plotter, folding machine, cutting machine and copy machine.12. Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job.

Other Responsibilities1. Participate in professional development activities as required by the district.2. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals.3. Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED; three (3) years of computer graphics experience, with a strong emphasis in graphic design and production. Experience working in a print shop environment preferred. Must have a thorough working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; must possess excellent interpersonal skills. Make routine decisions under direction and general supervision in accordance with established priorities and policies. Possess planning and organizational skills. Must possess follow-through on all assignments and be detail-oriented. Fluent in both Windows and Mac platforms.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsMust be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds; extended periods of standing, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting. Maintain emotional control under stress; ability to work with frequent interruptions; prolonged use of computers.
