Purpose of Position

The Courseware Developer/Multimedia Specialist is responsible for the development and maintenance of training materials to include courseware content, multimedia files and documentation, following program guidelines and using the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop/update/maintain courseware products through a process that includes review and research of government furnished materials, such as regulations, technical orders, etc.Applies program standards for documents and training material design, format, word usage, and writing style.Assist GTIMS Administrator to manage courseware curriculum within the LMS.Prepare task lists, reports, records, interview SMEs, locate and extract information from technical documents, and synthesize the results of activities in a standard format.Develop/update/maintain training materials in a variety of media.Follows established guidelines to update and maintain training materials for delivery in a classroom setting, through computer-based training (CBT) and by instructors, in conjunction with actual or simulated equipment and systems.Maintain CBTs using the Impression Content Creation Tool to include updating libraries from the server, replacing graphics within CBT lessons, ensuring graphics flow, interaction, feedback, test questions, and test question remediation within CBT lessons.Prepare all courseware files for review by QA and delivery to GTIMS Administrator. Update courseware tools with current courseware configuration.Update and maintain graphics using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, Media Encoder, Premier Pro)Update and maintain 3D graphics using LightwaveMinimum Education

Associates degree in computer science, courseware development, education, network administration, software engineering, math, or physics, or related field is highly desirable. Relevant experience will be considered.Minimum Experience

Two years of experience in CBT and related authoring systems is preferred.One year of experience using 3D softwareTwo years of experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop and IllustratorUnderstanding of applying sound Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies is desired.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work with minimum supervision.Ability to learn Learning Content Management System (LCMS) software quicklyGeneral understanding of Cyber Security and Information Assurance as it relates to the United States Department of Defense.Working knowledge of Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) / Aviation Industry CBT Committee (AICC) standards.Solid knowledge of the ISD process.Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)Solid knowledge of Adobe AnimateBasic knowledge of peripheral interface and microprocessor applications.Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.Ability to work independently or in conjunction with others in a fast-paced environment.Ability to exercise judgment in interpreting instructions and conform to established standards for ISD document and training materials design, format, word usage, and writing style.Ability to assume responsibility for accuracy and completeness of work produced.Ability to use computerized database, word processing, and computer-based training tools to develop and revise ISD documents and training materials.Possess, or have the ability to obtain, a SECRET security clearance.Physical Demands and Work Environment
