We foster a culture of inclusivity, integrity, and creativity while boldly pursuing answers to the world’s most complex health challenges and transforming society.The OpportunityThe newly formed Media & Innovation team, led by the Sr. Director of Media & Innovation and reporting to the Head of Digital Marketing, drives Genentech's paid media strategy and fuels its innovation efforts. The candidate in this role will drive operational excellence through media processes, execution, and engagement models across marketing and agencies of record. This individual will also provide governance of media platforms and manage financial contracts to achieve unparalleled efficiency and impact in media. The candidate will partner closely with XO (Experience Operations) and SAI (Strategic Analytics and Insights) to align on a shared vision, roadmap, and implementation plan.Key Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive model for media execution that enhances efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness across the enterprise with simplicity and efficiency at the core.Ensure documentation of media processes and share them as needed with relevant stakeholders.Regularly assess and report on the health of media operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to address gaps.Set operational KPIs to maximize quality, speed, and OPEX savings in media executions.Collaborate with and seek input from brand marketing to surface opportunities to improve media execution and efficiency.Manage the financial aspects of media operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial contracts, to ensure fiscal discipline and transparency.Ensure all media processes adhere to regulatory compliance and privacy standards, safeguarding the company's interests and customer data.Build a seamless engagement model with our agencies of record leveraging workflow and project management tools to ensure a seamless flow of information and foster better collaboration, innovation, and alignment on objectives.Lead the training and onboarding of agency partners and brand teams, ensuring they are equipped to meet Genentech's standards for media and social campaigns.Govern the access and use of media and social platforms, establishing guidelines and practices that optimize performance.Work with cross-functional partners in XO, SAI, and USIX as relevant and co-identify capabilities/platforms to be delivered by functional partners and leveraged across marketing.Build relationships and partnerships with the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) and Digital Governance Board to ensure the development of compliant and effective processes.Who You Are:(Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience)You hold a Bachelor's degreeYou hold 8 years minimum work experience, with 6 years working in a media role or, an Advanced Degree with 6 years of working experience with 5 years in a media role may be considered.PreferredMBA or other related graduate-level degree preferredExperience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industryExperience in creating marketing strategies, plans, and tactics that have strengthened market positioning and financial resultsExperience in Media Strategy, Buying, Execution, Channel Mix, Measurement, TV, Digital Channels, ProcessesExperience in working with media partnersStrong data proficiency with a deep understanding of data strategy, technology, and platformsAbility to drive a data-driven media practice, focus on metrics that matter, and drive business performance forward without unnecessary complexity and overanalysisDeep knowledge of each customer type e.g. HCPs, patients, payers, IDNs, distributors, pathways and how they run their businessAbility to think with an enterprise mindsetBreadth of experience in digital marketing, digital media including the vendor landscapeAbility to flex and thrive in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformational changeStrong customer orientation and focusAdaptive thinking and a strong, critical mindset.Strong business acumen and presentation skills.Highly proficient at project planning, budgeting, and oversight.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skillsLocation:This position is based in South San Francisco, CARelocation assistance is not available at this time.
