Please read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.Location: Washington, DCTravel: Yes, as requiredEducation: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field or equivalent experienceClearance: Public TrustPosition Summary:The Broadcast Engineer/IT Electronic Media Production Engineer is responsible for managing equipment and IT electronic maintenance and repair requirements. This role involves designing, installing, configuring, integrating, and administering digital broadcast systems.Key Responsibilities:Engineering design, installation, configuration, integration, and administration of digital broadcast systems that support the complete broadcast programming production process, including television programming acquisition systems (live camera origination, broadcast fiber, and IP-based streaming), and broadcast control systems.

Serve as a digital broadcast engineer and technical expert with responsibility for the maintenance and development of studio and technical broadcast capabilities.

Maintain a pulse on emerging technologies related to online streaming and editing on-demand content.

Help create and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage including but not limited to collaboration tools, mobile devices, media asset management (MAM) systems and protocols.

Support digital television broadcast studios, master control, audio control and production control, live production control room, robotic camera systems, video ingest and transmission, video server networks, broadcast control rooms and core facilities, IT systems maintenance and support.

Broadcast engineering, maintenance, and technical support services, to include end-to-end signal flow troubleshooting, provide technical production assistance in all

aspects of a hybrid serial/IP broadcast system, broadcast communications systems and supporting IT infrastructure.

Provide engineering design, maintenance and support of TCP/IP networking and video over IP devices including Cellular/IP Bonded Live Video Transmission, IP Video Encoders and Decoders, livestreaming, and must be able to perform local, remote configuration and troubleshooting of cloud-based video streaming editing systems and control.

Fabricating, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting broadcast fiber and cable infrastructure to include coax, twisted pair, single, multimode, and SMPTE fiber optic cables.

Provide Audio/Video/Acoustical Engineering consultation.

Troubleshooting, maintenance, and the operation of digital broadcast infrastructure for a hybrid broadcast facility including video servers, hybrid routers, digital production switchers, broadcast video graphics design software, intercom matrix and party line systems.

Professional broadcast technical liaison for internal and external organizations.

Technical operational training for the broadcast division staff to include all functions and features of the digital broadcast systems, and all related software, tools, and utilities.

Technical equipment support services, to include, asset tracking and inventory, preventative maintenance, and technology life-cycle management and recommendations.

Provide on-site audio and video engineering services to ensure proper maintenance of systems. Complete monthly diagnostic testing as well as monthly audio/video signal path measurements and alignment. Manage maintenance records and provide a monthly log of any repairs, replacements, and/or other work performed.

Install upgrades and replacement equipment. Complete hardware and software updates installation.

Troubleshoot and provide fault diagnosis and on-site repair for equipment. Call back for emergency calls shall be within 1 hour.

Minimum Experience:Must be able to obtain OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Training Course Certificate or Construction Industry Outreach course by an approved federal OSHA training provider before entering employment.

Experience in engineering design and maintenance of digital broadcast systems

Proficient in TCP/IP networking and video over IP devices

Experience in broadcast technical support services

Ability to provide technical operational training
