About the Position

The National Taxpayers Union Foundation seeks a motivated, passionate individual to lead our Marketing team, playing a fundamental role in crafting and executing our pro-taxpayer message that we carry to journalists, policymakers, and the general public.

The Vice President of Marketing will report to the Executive Vice President and manage two members of the Marketing team. This role can be based in Washington, DC, or a virtual office. Virtual employees will be expected to work a schedule based on Eastern Time and travel to the Washington DC offices quarterly.

Responsibilities

Leadership

Develop and drive plans to achieve organizational goals, especially external awareness of our brand, our research, and our impact.

Set goals and oversee contractors and project staff for the NTUF website, email newsletters, events, video, social media, and paid advertising.

Supervise and mentor Marketing team members, including a Director, Assistant, and contractors.

Contribute to a collaborative, productive, proactive work environment.

Media & Outreach

Oversee media monitoring and use analytics to aid our proactive and reactive engagement with the news cycle.

Cultivate relationships with the press to secure high-value media placements for policy staff.

Prepare policy staff for media interviews.

Edit and place op-eds and letters to the editor.

Represent the organization at key events.

Publications

Work closely with scholars and team leads to edit, publish, and market annual studies, policy reports, blog posts, testimonies, court filings, and other content.

Draft and edit promotional plans and materials, including press releases, talking points, and digital copy.

Ensure all public-facing products follow best practices for branding, messaging, and SEO.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in communications, marketing, or media relations.

Alignment with the mission of NTUF.

Experience with personnel management and/or in a non-profit environment is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to travel up to 10%.

Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of Cision, Mailchimp, and/or Google Analytics is a plus.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Compensation

This is a full-time position, with an expected salary range of $130,000-$150,000 per year. Benefits include health insurance with generous employer premium contribution, 401(k) retirement plan with 100% match on the first 3% of contributions and 50% on the next 2% of contributions, 12 paid holidays plus vacation and sick leave, and office closure between Christmas and New Year’s.
