Summary

The MIL Corporation

is seeking a

Senior Technical Writer (Technical Writer, Senior Analyst)

to work with a Federal client. The Senior Technical Writer will document financial management and process improvements as part of a team delivering automation and financial management support. The position is contingent upon award.

This position may be eligible for some remote work depending on contract/client and hiring manager approval.

Responsibilities

Document financial processes, review the work of functional and technical colleagues, and complete activities consistent with delivery schedules and performance parameters.

Understand financial management concepts, processes, practices and procedures on automation assignments. Participate in teams designing solutions for systems that support financial management services to perform complex operations.

Document current standard operating procedures (SOPs) and system procedures

Provide guides and training materials for the developed solutions.

Review the existing procedures for SOP development and propose recommendations.

Work with stakeholders to improve the SOP development process.

Develop appropriate professional-looking templates for all program documentation that will be produced.

Develop training materials, demos, videos, and user guides for applications that are fielded to users.

Develop innovative approaches to deliver targeted, non-time-consuming training to the user community.

Work with analysts to create user-centered and intuitive application and process designs.

Educate federal staff on how to run and maintain the developed solutions.

Required Qualifications

Five years of overall experience documenting financial processes and systems

Ability to identify and solve problems through teamwork and consultation

Skilled in process improvement methodologies

Adept at change management

Well versed in successful delivery.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

Experience in federal financial management

Familiarity with systems that support federal financial management services

Experience participating in Agile teams, including knowledge of Agile and Kanban approaches.

Familiarity with financial automation tools such as UIPath, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and Tableau

Familiarity with Microsoft tools, including SharePoint and Office 365.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines: Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related fields.

Clearance

Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $90,000 - $118,000 per year.
