Primary Purpose:

Develop media and promotion strategies for districtwide operations. Design elements for online and print media, posters, signage and other marketing materials. Serve as liaison between staff, students, parents and the community.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to visualize and transfer abstract ideas into concrete images and graphics

Proficiency with graphic design, word processing, presentation software, and Adobe Creative Suite

Proficiency with social media websites, editing, maintaining and creating advertisement campaigns within them

Ability to operate recording and production materials such as cameras, microphones, and lighting

Website editing and proficiency in mass notification systems

On camera experience for media interview purposes

Event planning experience

Knowledge of commercial printing process and material production

Demonstrated skill in writing, proofreading, editing and desktop publishing

Branding implementation knowledge

Strong customer service skills

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to meet established deadlines while managing multiple projects

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Design, prepare, and edit online and print graphics, publications, and presentations.Consult with clients on project needs and present concepts with supporting brand and marketing rationale.Organize and maintain logos across the district.Maintain branding strategy for district and schools.Record and produce high quality videos for web, social media, and special events, on location or with studio setup.Produce original digital artwork and graphic layouts for campus and district initiatives and events.Take high quality photos for various purposes including but not limited to special events, headshots, promotional materials, social media, web, etc.Maintain and edit websites for districts, departments and campuses.Maintain social media presence and monitor/respond to comments, promote engagement.Logically organized archived files.Develop creative campaign ideas.Help plan and organize events, assist in areas of the event day-of.Deliver goods to schools when needed such as awards and recognitions.Write and proofread copy.Coordinate with in-house printing services and outside vendors for printing and distribution of publications and projects.Maintain and enforce visual appearance and brand continuity in print and digital environment.Maintain archive of all district digital assets.Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Follow privacy procedures and protocols.Represent the district in a positive manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise webmasters at campus levels and provide them with assistance when needed. Supervise the implementation of district, campus and department logos across the district and the correct use of them.

Standard office equipment including computer, laptop, iPad, digital camera, prompter technology, lighting studio, video camera, tripod, and other recording devices.

Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Occasional lifting and carrying.

May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide and statewide travel. Occasional weekend, and holiday hours.
