How You Will Make an Impact

The Director, Grant Writer is responsible for researching, writing, and coordinating the grant application process for Lifelong Learning and all its supporting organizations. This position will manage proposals, oversee, and select grant consultants including but not limited to developing and maintaining a donor database. This role will collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and compelling proposals are submitted to potential funders to support the organization's projects and strategic initiatives. This position reports to the Vice President, Finance, or the designee.

Identify and research potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations. Stay updated on grant trends, deadlines, and best practices.Writing : Prepare high-quality grant proposals, including letters of intent, full proposals, and supporting documents. Tailor proposals to match the specific requirements of each funding opportunity. Edit and revise proposals based on feedback from internal stakeholders.Management:

Track and manage all submitted proposals and maintain records of grant activities. identify if proposal is contracted or done in-house, oversee outside contractor's workload. Ensure compliance with all grant reporting as required by funders. Develop and maintain a grant calendar to ensure timely submission of proposals and reports. Collaborate with program staff to gather information for proposals. Manage grant application process and deadline. Maintain grant calendar and tracking system. Communicate with funders as needed.Evaluation:

Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of funded projects to ensure goals and objectives are met. Prepare impact reports and updates for funders.Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned. These may be changed or modified from time to time.Reporting:

Maintain a running list of all grants with timeline and what is in pipeline. Report to supervisor monthly.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage, coordinate, supervise, coach, and direct the hiring, training, timely performance evaluations of team members, oversee their daily activities and oversee the daily workflow of the department.Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Knowledge of federal, state, and county grant submissions.Knowledge of Foundation, local grantsKnowledge of fundraising management.Knowledge of federal legislation affecting charities.Knowledge of the management of volunteer resources.Ability to positively work with representatives of the organization and Leaders.Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills; presentation skills.Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the area of employment.Ability to exercise critical thinking, use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Ability to analyze business data or information: identify the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data.Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple requests or interruptions while still completing projects or work assignments in a timely manner.Self-sufficient, resourceful, and committed to providing excellent customer serviceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management or related field or 2 years equivalent work experience demonstrating applicable skills in relevant industry or discipline. Equivalent experience is included in and not separate from total years of professional experience required.Three years' proven experience specific in grant writing, with a track record of successful grant proposals.Two years of combination experience in a leadership and management role. management of grant consultant is desired.In-depth knowledge of federal, state, county and foundation grant submissions, federal legislations affecting charities, fundraising management, and management of volunteer resources.Knowledge of Grant.gov is required.Strong autonomy, reliable, responsible, dependable and willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.Proficient level of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and grant management software.Ability to travel up to 20% in performance of job duties is required.
