OverviewThe Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement (Marketer II) will play an integral role in marketing, promotions, and fan engagement for the Utah State Athletics Department. This individual will develop and implement strategic marketing plans focused on increasing attendance and revenue, as well as develop and enhance the fan experience through game scripting, production, and experiences. This position will work closely with numerous departments, including ticket sales and operations, Aggie Sports Properties, communications, USU spirit, Aggie Marching and Pep band, and HURD student section.

Responsibilities

Create, coordinate, and execute marketing plans and initiatives for Football, Men’s Basketball, and other assigned sports to increase awareness, attendance, revenue, and fan engagement for each athletic program.

Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across all digital channels, including email, social media, and digital marketing, as well as, traditional media, including but not limited to radio, TV, print, outdoor, etc.

Create and develop promotional plans and giveaway strategies for assigned sports to maximize ticket sales, attendance, fan experience, and fan engagement.

Serve as the in-house producer for Football, Men’s Basketball, and other assigned sports. Lead script writing and game producing to coordinate all in-game elements (sponsorships, promotions, music, public address announcer, entertainment, presentations, video, band,

cheerleaders, dance, and mascot) to maximize fan engagement and grow the fan experience at all Utah State athletic events.

Work collaboratively with all departments within USU athletics and the campus community, including communications, game operations, ticket operations, advancement, communications, UMAC, etc.

Coordinate the development of all promotional and marketing collateral as needed.

Strategize, organize and coordinate campus marketing initiatives targeted to faculty, staff, and the student body to maximize support.

Coordinate all gameday activities and promotions that enhance and advance the traditions of Utah State while acting as a liaison for the Aggie Marching Band, pep band, cheer, dance, mascot, and HURD student section.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years’ experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated marketing, fan engagement, and event production experience.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated revenue generational responsibilities.

Ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision, with an irregular work schedule including weekends and evenings as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree

Division 1 football or men’s basketball experience

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

Demonstrated ability in leadership and management.

Knowledgeable of the NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of Utah State University, the Mountain West Conference, and the NCAA.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a group setting.

Creative thinker and problem solver.

Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple demands efficiently, think ahead, anticipate issues, and successfully work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Possess excellent attention to detail, grammar and proofreading skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently, coordinate large projects or events.
