Safe Place for Youth (SPY) is the leading service provider for youth experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in West Los Angeles. Founded in 2011, our agency offers trauma-informed, low barrier programs that support young people in exiting the streets and achieving stability so that they can thrive, not just survive. ABOUT THE ROLE:

The role of the Marketing and Communications Manager is to support the Deputy Chief of Development and Communications in guiding SPY's Brand, Marketing, and Communication strategies. The Marketing and Communications manager will be instrumental in supporting and refining SPY's Brand, Communications, and marketing capabilities, including helping to shape strategy and tactics as a member of the communications team, guiding and developing strategic marketing initiatives targeting the organization's diverse audiences; and utilizing communications strategies to raise awareness about youth homelessness and funds for Safe Place for Youth. This role encompasses developing, implementing and evaluating long and short-term initiatives focused on connecting key external and internal audiences in ways that support the organization's ability to achieve its goals and reinforce/enhance SPY's reputation, credibility and revenue to support its mission.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Support ongoing development of an integrated Marketing & Communications strategy based on the brand's positioning, defined organizational objectives, the market landscape, and a deep understanding of key internal and external audiencesDevelop messages and marketing/communications strategies across key traditional and digital channelsWork with the Deputy Chief of Development and Communications to align the marketing and communications strategies with brand vision and growth strategies considering audience, message, medium, timing, and ROIOversee and manage ongoing marketing budget aligned with organizational goalsCollaborate with internal colleagues, external agency partners, and others to continually develop, differentiate, reinforce and enhance the brand equity across all channelsEnsure the brand's value proposition and mission is clearly defined and reinforced through campaigns that highlight our excellence in delivery and services and tell stories about the young people who we serve.Continue to engrain the brand's positioning, equity, and essence across the organization and make it an important cultural featureEnsure that regular photography is occurring to capture SPY's services, impact, and eventsWork with the Deputy Chief of Development and Communications, the Executive Leadership Team and external Agency partners to maintain a strategic communication plan that supports and promotes all major organization initiatives and clinical programs, etc.Collaborate with internal CS colleagues and external Agency/Consultant resources to ensure all stakeholder touchpoints and media channels embrace and reflect the essence of the SPY brand, and that these communications are integrated effectively, produced efficiently and focused on driving resultsIn coordination with the Deputy Chief of Development and Communications, manage public relations activities to build SPY's reputation and raise awareness about youth homelessness, including writing and distribution of press releases, working with youth members to share their stories.Generate media opportunities, submit conference proposals, and public speaking opportunities to share SPY's workCoordinate forums to engage the community and share SPY's workEnsure adequate preparation for individuals speaking on behalf of the organization including speechwriting, cue cards, scripts etc. as neededDevelop and maintain strong relationships with local and regional media, along with important online media outletsWork with the Deputy Chief of Development and Communications to Implement an internal communications strategy that will engage employees - and volunteers - at a personal level, drive emotional brand connection and progress the SPY mission and cultureParticipate as a member of the Performance and Quality Improvement team and ensure continuous quality improvement within the departmentEnsure that videos are created to capture SPY's impactEnsure that SPY's website is well maintainedWork to strengthen internal engagement across the organization, working with senior management to align strategic priorities with timely and transparent communicationEnsure that social media is effectively engaging the community and increase social media presenceOther duties as assigned to support the mission of the program and organization.Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Bachelor's degree in Communications or any related field is

preferred.2-3 years of experience in developing and implementing a substantive and cohesive vision for marketing and communications based on an organization's history and its strategic goals

is required.2-3 years of developing strategic marketing and communications programs that have driven measurable customer and stakeholder engagement and growth in support of the organizations business strategy

is required.1-2 years of experience across marketing strategy and planning, brand strategy, customer segmentation, analytics and digital marketing and integrated campaign management

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements: Effective August 9, 2021, the State Health Officer has mandated that all workers, paid or unpaid, in homeless services organizations must provide proof of vaccination. If eligible for a booster shot, proof of booster is also required. If not fully vaccinated, weekly COVID-19 testing is necessary depending on the program. Driver Positions:
