The Mechanical Designer will collaborate closely with our engineering team to conceptualize and invent design solutions, layout design ideas, and produce rapid iterations. You will prepare precise detail and assembly drawings and manage special projects. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and optimizing for safety, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and reliability will be at the core of your responsibilities. You will apply your independent expertise in design principles to uphold our organizational policies, internal controls, and Code of Conduct.
What you’ll bring:Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology or related discipline1-5 years of related work experienceExperience in an ISO 9001, API Spec Q1, API 7K and API 8C engineering and manufacturing environment are a plusStrong 2D/3D modeling experience with (SolidWorks preferred)Experience with a PDM system (SolidWorks Enterprise PDM preferred)Experience with an ERP system (Epicor 9 or 10 preferred)Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPointWhat you’ll do:
Create and maintain engineering documents relating to product specification, design, development, prototyping, testing, verification, validation, user documentation and technical regulatory compliancePerform 2D/3D design and modelingAnalyze designs, product life cycle and hydraulic/pneumatic control designsProduce designs, concepts and layouts, professional quality drawings, material specifications, structured Bill of Material (BOM) for parts, assemblies and systems compliant with industry standards (e.g. API 8C, API 7K requirements, etc.)Prescribe and oversee validation testingInvestigate technical problems, identify root causes and implement corrective actionsCommunicate with the other engineering, sales, manufacturing, procurement and service personnel to co-ordinate the interrelated design and ensure on-time, on-spec and on-budget completionComplete conceptual designs along with variations of existing product linesRespond to production and sales requests for supportAssist with the implementation of new standards aimed at increasing productivity and safety through solid modeling practices, drawing standards, release procedures, and regulatory auditsMaintaining technical accuracy and detail in all aspects of completed workWho Are We?
