Strategic Communications Consultant

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Cherokee Insights is seeking a Strategic Communications Consultant to provide strategic communication and analysis support for INSCOM. The Strategic Communications Consultant shall provide leadership in the identification, crafting, and execution of strategic narratives to stakeholders, including but not limited to, worldwide program members, INSCOM Commander, INSCOM's MSC Commanders, the Under Secretary of Defense (Intelligence), and U.S. Army G2 (Intelligence).

Strategic Communications Consultant Responsibilities Include:
  • Actively participate in specified meetings, briefings, conference, seminars, progress reviews, etc
  • Develop communications approaches targeted to a variety of audiences and delivered across multiple platforms, including web and intranet, on unclassified and classified systems.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of AFSC's executive-level briefings and other communication materials.
  • Provide command, activity, program, and division-level strategic communications analysis and develop strategies for communication items associated with AFSC career programs (recurring publications, newsletters, FAQs, Intels, Communication Modules, critical meeting after action review reports, website/knowledge management portal, key leader briefings, and marketing/branding expertise), change management initiatives, AFSC customer service support, as well as the AFSC commander and leadership strategic plans and priorities.
  • Support the development of articles for publication with or on the behalf of the commander by performing ghostwriting duties as needed to aid in the dissemination of DoD, Army and IC wide initiatives.
  • Collaborate with unit SharePoint and knowledge managers to enhance organization's SharePoint sites and portals.
  • Analyze effectiveness of AFSC's marketing/advertising strategy and materials for its program responsibilities; Customer Support Updates; Customer service SOP; and event support (Changes of Command, Program Assistance Visits, etc.).
  • Produce multimedia material (graphics, video, briefings materials, etc.) for IC communications that are clear, concise and visually appealing.
  • Complete actions and deliver briefings, strategies, reports, plans, meeting notes, presentations, etc., to Government Team Lead.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of effective and easy to understand people reporting solutions (i.e. dashboards, reports) to track metrics associated with human resources people management and workforce planning.
  • Give direction to photographers, designers, editors and other vendors to ensure organization requirements and priorities are understood and accomplished.
  • Navigate internal outreach processes and perform as point of contact for collaboration and coordination.
  • Develop project dashboards and reports that highlight accomplishments, statuses, risks and opportunities to the customer.
  • Provide quality control for multimedia materials created to include graphic design and production deliverables.
  • Independently manage workload and tasks, as well as develop high-quality deliverables and perform duties as requested to support strategic communications and analysis missions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Strategic Communications Consultant Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of military/government work experience relating to strategic communications and/or analysis
  • Industry recognized certifications such as Prosci or Human-Centered Design (HCD) with three (3) years of experience in supporting human-centered design process improvement initiatives is desirable
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Agile/Scrum environment, either corporate or military
  • Proficiency with MS office and SharePoint software
  • Excellent customer service, and oral and written communication skills
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
