Nordstrom Marketing/Creative - Content Creation DirectorWe are seeking a Director to lead our Nordstrom Content creation work within our Creative and Marketing team.Our Marketing vision is to ignite growth through deepening customer connection and our team is responsible for delivering content to drive customer engagement, grow our customer base, and execute strategies that will differentiate us from competitors.Joining us at a pivotal time of transformation, this critical leadership role will contribute both to the enablement of scaling and personalizing content along with driving appropriately differentiated content specific to relevant communities, audiences and platforms. The Nordstrom Content Creation Director is responsible for developing a 360-degree holistic content creation strategy informed by business objectives and strategic priorities. The role will require an ability to closely collaborate with cross-functional teams across the business to bring brand storytelling to life throughout all channels and surfaces, and capability to lead, maintain and manage brand voice and tone to ensure cohesion. They will champion the evolution of ‘new ways of working’ by effectively planning and orchestrating content creation, across both inhouse teams, 3rd party partners, publishers and content creators to provide a central resource of best in class, brand right content to fuel business demand.The ideal candidate is an experienced brand and content leader skilled in planning and executing, brand enhancing, customer engaging content appropriate to channel and platform through to tracking performance. They should be proactive in understanding evolving content trends at a macro and micro level to capitalize on customer interest, participation in community and cultural conversations. They have experience working across organizations, understanding the business demands of content, strategic in leveraging internal and external content creation resources to deliver optimal outcomes. They are known for their strong partnership and people management skills, ability to build consensus, effectively aligning and supporting leaders, peers, stakeholders, and team members through clear communication and influence.As a member of the Marketing/Creative team you will:Lead & drive the long-term content creation strategy & vision in line with Nordstrom Brand & proposition vision, and develop and drive the omni-channel Nordstrom annual/seasonal content creation strategy in service of customer and business strategy, priorities and goals. Strategic Mindset/Drives Vision/Customer FocusLead & drive clear Brand Voice, Tone guidelines/standards for Nordstrom to achieve highest recognition, recall and relevancy with target customers. Brand Management/Creative Direction/Customer FocusLead & drive clear Content creation planning and direction across programs and projects, setting expectations and supporting key stakeholders, partners, and team members to meet or exceed outcomes within timelines, resources, and budget allocation. Provides Direction/Process Management/Results Driven +Negotiation/PrioritizationWork across leaders and stakeholders in Creative Merchandising, Creative Marketing, Brand and Paid Marketing and NMN to deliver Content creation plan for seasonal campaigns, Anchor brand strategy, and distinctive Nordstrom moments across all platforms.Develop a holistic 360 Content Calendar, reflective of all key messages and customer touchpoints.Support an Op Model that successfully delivers and executes the plan, inclusive of the ability to create reactive content ensuring optimum relevancy through agility.Assess storytelling content across platforms (site, social, content hub, email, etc), to ensure a brand right elevated mix of engaging stories (and the right story tellers) to inform, entertain, and inspire, delivering the intersection of content & commerce.Clearly articulate strategy, vision, and purpose to inspire and motivate team towards common and individual goals.Deliver & Present direction, concepts, ideas and critical assessment in a clear, compelling and concise manner, adjusting communication and content style to meet the needs of audiences to ensure full understanding and buy in. Communicates Effectively/Influence SkillsSupport and partner with agency/suppliers for content creation partnership opportunities from exploratory meetings, onboarding, and ongoing maintenance.Identify and foster relationships with best-in-class external resources.Proven ability to lead & manage managers and team members direct and indirect line reporting (including editors, writers, content creators and platform content strategists).Builds & manages team structure, infrastructure and op model to ensure resources are optimized against business priorities, with clear accountability to achieve team and enable individual success.Builds Teams/Organizational Design/Team Management/DelegationIllustrates situational management, appropriate delegation & partnership support to achieve best outcome for Brand & Business (Direct, Empower, Coach, Advise).
