Visual Designer WHAT WE SEEK We are looking for a talented Visual Designer that can bring their creative and visual lens to our growing Design Team. The ideal candidate would have previous experience in visual design, production and designing for both print and digital. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in visual design and production, expertise in both print and digital media, and a strong background in digital accessibility. Additionally, they should possess a deep understanding and empathy for our diverse user base across the US, Canada, and beyond. WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

Help shape the future of learning by designing curriculum products, including eBooks, print books, and digital experiences that make teachers', students', and other school stakeholders' lives easier;

Partner with design leaders, product managers, and curriculum leads to meet their design needs and ensure high-quality, scalable, visual design solutions;

Create digital illustrations, support photo editing, and create information designs;

Design digital and print layouts that support highly usable and interactable content;

Support brand design efforts, including palette/typography definition, logo design, iconography design, and creation of brand templates;

Work within the confines of established brand guidelines;

Develop detailed accessibility audit reports, including prioritized findings and recommendations for fixing discovered issues;

Deliver and present accessibility findings to designers, content developers, and other stakeholders;

Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in visual design and design technologies, stay informed of changes in accessibility guidelines;

Be a point of contact for design and accessibility, respectively, between internal departments and outside vendors and contractors, handling design queries and requests to ensure projects are completed promptly and on time;

Work with design and production teams to run accessibility checks for artwork, typography, and other accessibility needs to ensure consistency of quality and adherence to project guidelines and creative objectives;

Organize, develop and maintain an accessibility guide and other design guidelines and resources as they pertain to visual design at the discretion of the Design Director;

Support the production and pre-press process, developing and maintaining best practice processes and tools for design and accessibility. WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR BACKPACK

8+ years of experience in design and production

Advanced skills and experience in Adobe Creative Suite especially Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat

Previous experience working with or building design standards and guidelines;

Highly organized and meticulous attention to detail;

Excellent communication skills;

Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills;

Entrepreneurial spirit - willing to experiment, test new processes, and adapt quickly;

Highly collaborative - demonstrated ability to work exceptionally well in teams.

Working knowledge of print and digital production
