Publications & Graphic Design Specialist (Job #271) ($63,659 - $70,245)General Purpose:Under general supervision of the Senior Publications and Graphic Design Specialist, this role assists in developing high-quality marketing, training, branding, social media, and other materials for the organization. Supports the communications team with social media outreach, publications, marketing materials development, proofreading, and web design.Specific job goals, objectives and tasks are established for each employee as part of the annual evaluation and work plan process. The statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all qualifications, responsibilities, duties, and skills required.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Designs print materials including flyers, one-pagers, brochures, postcards, handouts and stationary.Designs digital graphic assets for social media, website, and apps.Designs branding and materials for events.Coordinates the printing and production of materials.Provides layout and graphics support for reports, manuals, and other technical documents.Develops workshop-specific training materials such as handouts and PowerPoint presentations.Edits and manipulates photographic images for use in RCAC materials and publications.Designs and produces specialty items such as tote bags, T-shirts, mugs, and lanyard badges.Troubleshoots and resolves technical design issues.Assists with managing materials templates to reflect current brand and style standards.Assists with managing the RCAC photo library.Assists with branding activities; maintains and updates brand guidelines.Makes updates to the website and builds new webpages as needed.Assists with email publications and social media.Assists with developing departmental presentations, including trainings, departmental updates, and PowerPoint slide decks.Designs templates for email newsletters, registration webpages, and reports.Creates marketing emails for training and webinars.Assists with proofreading a wide range of documents.Produces motion graphics.Performs other related duties as assigned.Supervision Exercised:No supervision.Minimum Qualifications and Necessary Requirements:EQUIVALENT combination of education and experience can meet minimum qualifications .EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, media, or related field.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

Valid driver's license and proof of insurance that meets the minimum requirements ($100,000/$300,000) of RCAC corporate liability policy.EXPERIENCE:

Three years' experience in using Adobe Creative Suite to create and edit images, graphics, documents, text, and other materials. Excellent writing and grammatical skills. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office programs, graphic design and editing software.Must pass a background investigation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of English language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.Knowledge of typography, design, graphics, digital documents, and contracting printing or other production services.Knowledge of website management particularly WordPress or other Content Management Systems.Knowledge of design theory, visual communication principles, and the design process.Knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.Knowledge of the print process and file preparation.Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign experience.Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, presentation software (such as PowerPoint).Skill in organizing and coordinating.Ability to work within established brand guidelines.Ability to work independently as well as in team environments.Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.Ability to research and analyze background information to ensure accuracy.Ability to use a digital camera or video equipment.Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines.Ability to listen effectively and communicate verbally and in writing.Ability to provide an elevated level of customer service.Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare materials.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to meet strict timelines.Preferred Requirements:Project management experience.Experience with writing, editing, graphic design, social media, and other publications.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.Working Conditions:Work is typically performed in an office with a moderate noise level. Evening and/or weekend work may be required.
