GENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Creative Director is responsible for FMEA branding and developing corporate identity materials, publications, graphics and promotional items produced by FMEA. This includes but is not limited to FMEA event materials, the annual FMEA Membership Directory and maintenance of the Association website.The Creative Director works closely with other staff on FMEA publications, graphic design, photography, video production, and FMEA events, including Relay magazine, the Florida Lineman Competition, the FMEA Annual Conference, and the FMEA Energy Connections Conference & Trade Show. This position handles all aspects of the tradeshows associated with the Florida Lineman Competition and Energy Connections Conference and any other events.The Creative Director manages FMEA's website and works closely with the Office Manager as one of the primary contacts for FMEA's database provider (Novi) to set up events and workshops and general use products within the database.About FMEA: The Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) represents the unified interests of Florida's 33 public power communities. FMEA is the statewide trade association and voice for Florida's municipal electric utilities.FMEA provides its members with government relations, mutual aid coordination, communications, education, and networking opportunities. The association is at the forefront of energy industry news and trends and supports its member utilities by promoting public power and delivering superior services through advocacy, mutual aid, education, and collaboration.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Design and layout of all graphics used in FMEA communication materials (including event logos and signs, program layouts and conference agendas, fact sheets, legislative handouts, etc.)Design and produce graphics, FMEA email promos and marketing pieces for FMEA events, awards, newsletters and other promotional emails as needed.Overall responsibility for managing FMEA's website () including development and design. Works closely with communications staff on various postings.Design and develop award templates for FMEA and member utilities for use on social media and other purposes.Design PowerPoint presentation templates for FMEA events.Manage the annual update of FMEA Membership Directory - this includes updating all contact and statistical information for the Municipal members, Committee pages, and updating the information for the Associate members.Work closely with FMEA conference managers to manage event exhibitors and tradeshow layouts during FMEA events. Working with the exhibitors before the event and coordinating with the hotel to ensure all the exhibitors' needs are met.Working with the Host city staff and event venue for the Florida Lineman Competition on all the logistics for the competition field layout and the Welcome Reception.Works closely with vendors and Associate Members on tradeshows and other events and ensuring sponsorship fulfillments are met.Manages and keeps inventory of FMEA's audio visual equipment, makes recommendations for purchase, manages AV setups at FMEA events.Administrative duties for the FMEA database, including setting up events, queries and other database functions.Ensures all printed and visual sponsorship fulfillments are executed.Serves on the editorial team for quarterly magazine.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Self-starter and ability to manage and organize multiple tasks and deadlines.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Strong writing, editing, proofreading and task management skills.Organized and detail-oriented; excellent follow-through and results-oriented.Ability to take direction from multiple sources and remain flexible, with a common goal in mind.Ability to work independently.Proficient use of Adobe suite of products, including Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.Experience with videography and photography equipment and production skills.Knowledge of AP writing style and ability to use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.Proficient use in Constant Contact email marketing software and Formsite or other survey and form creation platform.Proficient in front-end website content editing and membership database management.Ability to develop original content.Ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Ability to research topics and collaborate with team members to produce content.Advanced video production and editing skills a plus.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Baccalaureate degree (Masters preferred) in Communications, Graphic Design or related field with at least five (5) years' experience in associations, graphic design, magazine, publication, or equivalent in education, training and experience. Knowledge in the field of energy or utilities a plus.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:Acceptable eyesight and hearing (with or without correction).Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.Ability to sit at a desk and view display screen for extended periods of time.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:- Some in-state overnight travel for association-hosted events is required.-
