About this opportunity:

To produce the scripting and recording of audio descriptions across a range of television output for a variety of clients. To organize and plan the scripting, recording and delivery of audio description across the full range of output for a variety of clients. And, to help line-manage the AD team with the UK Production Managers.

The AD PM will also collaborate with colleagues to ensure that all files are planned, produced and delivered efficiently, in line with varying SLAs. They will share responsibility for managing productivity and performance within the AD team as a whole.

This job requires a quiet space in which to record audio tracks, away from interruptions and background noises, and a fast home broadband connection. You will need to have a clear speaking voice for recording and be proficient at editing for grammar, spelling and punctuation.

What you will do:

Write scripts and record descriptionsUndertake background research on programs to be described as required and to obtain further information from all sourcesContribute to audio description editorial policy and standardsPlan, allocate and manage the production of AD output across clients in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure delivery to SLAsIdentify workflow and process improvementsDeliver introductory training to audio description recruits and assist in the development of editorial and team skills of the teamUnderstand the requirements of our clients and our business, including cost reduction priorities, and work with the Head of AD and the rest of the team to meet themCollaborate with colleagues across Access Services, the rest of Red Bee Media, and production areas to ensure the best possible delivery of audio description servicesUndertake other duties related to Audio Description as necessaryCarry out duties in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines and policyThe skills you bring:

Professional vocal skills gained in a broadcasting environment or equivalent preferableProven writing and/or scripting skills for both creative and factual scripts are essentialA wide vocabulary, excellent language skills and a keen visual sense are essentialAn enjoyment and appreciation of a wide range of film and television outputA clear understanding of the needs and wishes of visually impaired people when watching televisionExperience of working with new systems and developing technologyAbility to work to tight deadlines both on their own or in collaboration with a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skills within their own area, with other parts of the company and external clientsAn awareness of Health and Safety issues

Starting Salary between $42,000 and $63,000 with a 5% annual bonus structure
