Summary:

The grant-writer is responsible for drafting letters of inquiry and proposals for general, project, and research support for the Antiracist Research & Policy Center's (ARPC) programmatic work as well as the research initiatives of our faculty collaboratories and, in some cases, individual faculty affiliates. The grant-writer should have an established track record of success securing grants. The ideal candidate has a foot in both the non-profit /foundation world and academia, with experience appealing to private foundations, and also crafting rigorous proposals for national agencies such as the National Science Foundation. Knowledge of social justice, antiracism, and social science/the humanities is a must. Experience in the fields of reproductive justice; abolition; educational equity; and/or environmental justice is a plus. The grant-writer should be highly organized, self-directed, and accountable with strong communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborative work.

This position is part time, with an average of 10 hours expected per week. It will begin in May and last through December 2024, with the possibility of extension.

Essential Functions:

Supporting ARPC and College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) development teams in locating and identifying potential grant/funding opportunities based on current funding priorities.Working with the Executive Director (ED) and ADOO (Associate Director of Operations and Outreach) to create a schedule and timeline for grant creation and submission.Working in consultation with the ED and ADOO, as well as faculty affiliates and community partners, to draft LOIs/statements of interest and grant proposals for Center projects and initiatives.Working with ADOO and CAS pre-awards on budget narratives and other forms that accompany submission.Other tasks as requested.Competencies:

Part-Time, 10 hours per week.This position is contingent upon the availability of funds.Salary Range:

$30-$35 per hour.Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree.1-3 years of relevant experience.Preferred Education and Experience:

Master's degree or equivalent.2-4 years of relevant experience.Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Required:

excellent written communication skills; familiarity with and interest in current issues in social justice, racial inequality, and intersectional antiracist work; fundraising and/or grant writing experience in an academic or non-profit settings.Preferred : previous experience working with foundations and external funding partners.Benefits
