Job DetailsMedia and Industry RelationsSenior Leadership Support: Provide advice and coaching to senior leadership in North America for engaging with external audiences, including the media, regulators, and industry groups.Crisis Communications: Serve as the primary contact for crisis communications and management in North America, offering strategic counsel and support to protect the organization's reputation and maintain an engaged workforce.Thought Leadership: Identify opportunities and strategies to position our brands and executives as thought leaders in the industry and relevant markets, overseeing external engagement opportunities for senior leadership.Earned Media: Develop effective strategies and relationships to increase earned media reach across local, regional, national, and trade publications.Awareness Campaigns: Develop, manage, and execute a strategic, multi-channel strategy to enhance the visibility of the company as a great place to work.Media Monitoring: Establish and effectively maintain media monitoring and listening tools.Community EngagementCommunity Impact Leadership: Lead the enterprise-wide Community Impact Workgroup, overseeing the strategy and initiatives to promote employee engagement and build both internal and external awareness.Community Relations Strategy: Manage and execute the company's community relations strategy, ensuring all activities align within its scope.Management and OperationsDepartment Growth: While initially not managing a team, this role may grow to include a small team of 1-2 communications professionals, for which this position would be responsible for their development and performance management.Collaboration: Collaborate with other marketing functions to develop messaging and implement strategies.Crisis Availability: Be available outside of regular work hours as needed to address timely crisis communications.Internal CommunicationsBuild and Develop the Internal Communications Function: Play a key role in creating and expanding the internal communications framework to ensure employees remain connected, engaged, and well-informed. Innovate new formats for disseminating information across all brands and locationsEditorial Leadership: Manage the editorial calendar for a new internal communications platform, ensuring proactive communication planning and stakeholder engagement.Senior Leadership Advisor: Guide and coach senior leaders on messaging, communication strategies, and tactics, including support for presentations.Strategic Communication Plans: Create and implement strategic communication plans for both new and ongoing initiatives. This includes streamlining key messages and identifying the best channels for delivery, as well as writing, editing, and producing presentations and videos.Storytelling and Messaging: Serve as the primary contact for senior leadership to transform business strategies and brand into engaging, inspiring, and compelling narratives.Event Planning: Organize and manage internal communications for major meetings and events, such as Town Halls and annual gatherings.Crisis Communication Management: Develop and implement strategies for effective internal crisis communications, ensuring swift and appropriate outreach to the workforce.Special Projects Collaboration: Partner on special projects and change management initiatives, including business acquisitions and integrations, and public crises.Channel Management: Oversee internal communication channels to ensure messages effectively reach and resonate with employees.Continuous Improvement: Develop best practices and KPIs to continually enhance the internal communications function and boost employee engagement.Cross-Functional Relationships: Foster strategic, cross-functional internal relationships to support the execution of communication strategies.
