General Summary:The Large Format Print Technician within Quinn Graphics will be responsible for printing and installing large format posters, banners, custom wallpaper, wayfinding and directional signage; for assisting customers in the selection of presentation materials; processing print requests; and facilitating the production of print jobs on large format printers and finishing equipment. The incumbent will operate large format printers, laminator, trimmer, contour cutter and review desktop publishing files for appropriate format settings; and will utilize the department's internal print management estimating and billing system. This is a part-time, hourly, non-benefitted position. The position pay is $19.00/hour.Examples of Duties:Print and install large format posters, banners, customer wallpaper, wayfinding and directional signage both on campus and on roadways around campus.Prepare technical art work and adjust or manipulate the format of electronic print files to fit the specifications of the intended graphic design and within the printer capabilities; proofread and edit copy for, accuracy and clarity.Operate and adjust large format printers, laminators, trimmers and contour cutter; calibrate equipment and perform routine maintenance, as needed.Assist customers in selecting presentation materials and the formatting of electronic documents destined for large format printers.Utilize print management system database for providing cost estimates, job costing, job tracking and cost chargebacks.Determine the availability of resources and/or materials, as well as the need for supplies and equipment to prepare and complete printed matter efficiently and on schedule.Maintain inventory of substrates, supplies, toner, parts and presentation materials.Consult with vendors and manufacturers to solicit recommendations for materials, technical support and equipment, as needed;Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Incumbent must have a minimum of two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in graphic arts, graphic design, drawing or illustrating work is required. Prior digital print production experience preferred. Prior experience with reviewing and manipulation print files generated from Desktop Publishing applications preferred. Prior experience working with large format printing equipment preferred. Strong computer application skills preferred. Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends is required. Possession of a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license is required at the time of hire and must be maintained throughout the duration of employment in this positionKnowledge of methods and techniques of operating computers and peripheral equipment.Knowledge of the materials, supplies and equipment used in graphic arts.Knowledge of the methods and techniques of graphic design and graphic arts, including layout.Knowledge of the methods and techniques of graphic reproduction.Ability to understand and apply the laws, rules and regulations governing agency operations.Ability to assemble items of information in accordance with established procedures.Ability to maintain accurate records.Ability to determine proper format and procedure for assembling items of information.Ability to work in a team setting and establish rapport with others, including internal staff, as well as faculty, staff and students.Ability to work accurately with names, numbers, codes and symbols.Ability to exercise sound judgment.Ability to perform arithmetic computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) with speed and accuracy.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong organizational and problem solving skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong commitment to customer service.
