We access the exterior building envelope to perform observations utilizing the boom lift and suspended scaffold access. We prepare drawings and specifications for the required roof and faade repairs and provide technical support during the bid and construction phases, with frequent site visits to review the quality of work and conformance with contract documents, as well as special inspections. We assist property managers, building owners, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues. The majority of our projects involve historic buildings and structures, but we also assist with contemporary buildings.The ideal candidate will act as a team member on various projects, including participating in field forensics investigations, analyzing existing buildings, writing reports, developing repair drawings and specifications, and technical consultation (such as envelope detailing) on new building structures. The candidate must be comfortable working at heights.Responsibilities:

On-site inspection/investigation including surveying and documenting observations, photographing, and sketching.Perform, observe and document testing protocols.Research the historical background of diverse building types, technical issues, and code issues.Organize field data to facilitate analysis and problem-solving.Analyze building envelopes, disabled access and energy code compliance, structural details, site work, and a variety of cross-discipline issues.Maintain project records.Develop technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentations.Participate in construction phase services.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires visual acuity and listening ability; individuals must have the dexterity to operate typical office equipment and field equipment and ladders.

Requirements

Professional Degree (Master's preferred) in architecture, architectural engineering, or related.Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.Seeking candidates with 0-2 years of relevant full-time experience in building envelope investigation and repair design.Strong interest in working onsite, preferred field experience.Willingness to safely work at heights.Strong technical writing and communication skills.Excellent Good organization skills.

CompensationThe rate for this position generally is$73,500-$84,000annually.This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation.Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted byNew YorkEqual Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
