Communications Lead, US FunctionsBoston, United States of America The Communications Lead, US Functions will join the Santander team reporting the SVP, Communications. This is a high-visibility role that interacts regularly with C-suite executives for whom a successful candidate will bring a holistic internal and external communications perspective, executive-level strategic mindset, strong partnership skills and full-spectrum support with accountability from initial concept through complete execution.In partnership with the Communications SVP, he or she will be responsible for coordinating town halls, preparing PowerPoint presentations, writing a variety of executive communications, crafting award entries, supporting social media accounts, developing briefing materials and project managing and coordinating internal and external communications activities.He or she will also function as the end-to-end coordinator for function leader-sponsored campaigns, partnering with executives’ front-office, Subject Matter Experts and partners across the company.In addition, this candidate will assist in special projects and global support, as needed, bringing exceptional capabilities as a writer, collaborator, problem-solver and project manager to an ambitious and rapidly evolving business environment.Santander US is transforming at scale, and this is a great opportunity for a dynamic, flexible and proactive communicator to make a real impact supporting these changes at a critical time for the business. Create content for internal and external communications campaigns and content including but not limited to talking points, videos, panel discussions, decks, bylines/pitches and LinkedIn posts

Serve as the communications point for Functions to HR, Marketing, Events, and executives’ front-office teams.

Effectively and efficiently collaborate within a matrixed global organization, striking the right balance of inclusivity and execution at pace

Represent Santander US Communications in key business meetings for currency that informs content

Partner across the Communications department to inform US-wide activities and effective information sharing

QualificationsBachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, creative/business writing

9+ years writing and communications experience.

Ability to navigate a matrixed organization.

Executive presence, confidence, and professional maturity.

Banking and/or broader Financial Services a plus, but not required.

Combination of agency and corporate experience a plus, but not required.

Experienced self-starter who can manage projects independently, a good sense of prioritization and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrates strong work ethic. Maintains high standards in every aspect of work and continually raises the bar.

Intellectually curious, embracing challenges and tackling problems with a solutions mindset.

Ability to work within the regulatory implications of financial services industry (or, other highly regulated industry).

Excellent communications skills with proficiency in efficiently co-conceiving, writing and visualizing decks and presentations, short form content, social media posts, messages, etc.

Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications

For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week.
