About This Role:Housed in the Division of Communications and Marketing (DCM) and serving the Institute of Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics (ID3A), this position works closely with DCM counterparts and ensures adherence to university branding guidelines and that messaging is appropriately aligned. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the communications and marketing efforts for ID3A.Tasks may include promoting research products to the public, designing and executing social media campaigns, corporate and alumni engagement and recruitment.The specialist will work closely with the ID3A board of directors and program manager to execute communications through a wide range of media, targeting various audiences. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art, journalism, advertising, marketing, hospitality management or related field or commensurate work experience.1-5 years of graphic design or communications experience.Knowledge or experience using Adobe Creative Suite - primarily Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator or equivalent programs or tools.Knowledge of UI/UX design and web best practices.Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices - mainly Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.Knowledge of Associated Press Style Guide.Ability to work with various types of computer hardware and other computer related equipment.Graphic design knowledge or experience.The ability to communicate through use of various forms of digital media such as social media, web posts, online marketing and branding.Ability to effectively communicate through writing.Ability to use innovation and creativity in marketing, branding or program concepts.Exceptional communication skills including strong business writing and oral presentation abilities suitable for university, industry and community interaction.High degree of motivation, flexibility to multi-task, reliability, responsiveness and attention to detail.Ability to direct the management of large projects, provide regular updates to senior management and deliver quality work under varied time constraints.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Demonstrates critical thinking and expresses ideas clearly, concisely and logically.Innovative with a "can-do attitude."Work independently and in project teams.Experience in video production.
