Position Summary Information

Responsibilities

The Digital Media Coordinator position is a full-time, 12-month position that provides targeted digital media outreach to increase engagement and brand awareness for Delta State University. The Coordinator reports to the Chief Marketing Officer, works closely with the Communications and Marketing team, and collaborates with other departments on campus.

Duties include:Develop and implement digital media strategies to increase brand visibility and traffic across all social media platforms; including content development, community engagement, and management;Attract and engage prospective students, current students, faculty, staff, alumni, community members, and donors through Delta State's social media platforms;Expand Delta State's online presence using digital media and visual communication avenues;Design and curate videos to enhance internal and external communications and create copy for social media accounts;Keep track of emerging technologies and implement innovative media for multiple campaigns;Create attractive, informative content including text, photos, videos, gifs, and graphics for each of the primary social media platforms;Assist in identifying, capturing, and telling Delta State stories through video and social media;Connect with academic/administrative departments, admissions, alumni, athletics, student groups, and the community to coordinate and share the best useful content for current students, prospective students, and the entire Delta State community;Film and edit video for social media and the Delta State website;Monitor social media platforms, answer questions, engage with followers, and like/comment on other social media accounts that support Delta State's mission and goals; andOther duties as assigned related to marketing efforts.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, master's preferred, in Communications, Marketing, Business, Digital Media, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or other related field;Knowledge of video editing software;Knowledge and understanding of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and other emerging platforms;Knowledge of online marketing methods and resources;Ability to think creatively and strategically and write for a variety of audiences using various forms of messaging; andMust be a United States citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States.SalaryCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university's resources.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Digital Media, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or other related field;Knowledge of video editing software;Knowledge and understanding of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and other emerging platforms;Knowledge of online marketing methods and resources;Ability to think creatively and strategically and write for a variety of audiences using various forms of messaging; andMust be a United States citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree preferred.
