The Systems Designer will support engineers with drawing layouts by utilizing computer-aided drafting software. This role will also be responsible for creating new and modified components and Bill of Materials (BOM) in accordance to the Oshkosh standards.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

Utilize GD&T practices to update current drawings per markups from engineering and review with high level engineers to ensure accuracy.

Use computer-aided drafting system to create 3D and 2D layout of parts, medium assemblies and sub-weldments, with limited direction from senior design team members and engineers.

Work cross functionally and with suppliers to obtain technical data.

Self-check own work to ensure accuracy and organization, dimension and tolerance convention, and conformance with established CAD specifications and standards.

Prepare and create medium complexity Change Notice (CN) documents based on BOM and design layouts for appropriate data entry.

Utilize ERP system to create part numbers following proper naming process and data entry requirements.

Create and revise medium complexity BOM following department procedures.

Provide technical assistance for build issue, prototype, pilot, and production support to Engineering team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* with two (2) years of experience in design.

Internal placement only, requires a panel review and approval by the manager, local Vice President of Engineering, and the Chief Technology Officer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* with six (6) years of experience in design.

Experience and/or training in GD&T.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to adapt to a fast pace environment.

Detail oriented.

Capable of using standard Windows Office tools including SharePoint, email, and CAD tools.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

*Note: equivalent equates approximately four (4) years of on the job experience to one (1) year of formal education. External hires are not eligible for equivalency in place of required education.
