Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a

Wayfinding Assistant Design Manager

to support the Aviation Team. The Wayfinding Asst. Design Manager monitors procedures for architectural and engineering review activities to ensure they are done according to best practices and the design standards identified in the Contracts. The Wayfinding Asst. Design Manager shall support design management, scope of work management, design review and approval, permitting, agency coordination support, and building information modelling (BIM) coordination. The Wayfinding Asst. Design Manager supports the Wayfinding Design Manager in providing oversight of the tenants/design-builders designs including architectural, structural, mechanical electrical plumbing (MEP), civil, utilities, and IT disciplines per our Aviation client's standards. The Wayfinding Asst. Design Manager supports the various design activities of the Wayfinding Enhancement Program.

The Wayfinding Enhancement Program covers all areas from landside (parking and roads) to terminal/concourse/secured side (all passenger facing) to airfield (gating identification) and all supporting IT interfaces.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the review and approval of technical documents (DRT process)Lending expertise to manage comment resolutionFacilitating meetings and be the technical liaison between the Developers/Design-Builders and TDIP Subject Matter Expert teamsWorking with the Wayfinding Design Manager and Project Manager in defining, reviewing and/or approving design requirements, responsibilities and program consistencyNotifying the Wayfinding Design Manager should design requirements contained in the project documents not be clearly definedProviding technical review of changes to scope of work for each projectSupporting the Wayfinding Design Manager in establishing submittal approval procedures and ensure uniformity of review approachAuditing project team comments and designer responsesMonitoring compliance with architectural and engineering guidelines for the Wayfinding Enhancement Program ensuring consistency and quality in designMonitoring permitting information and the permitting process required by the design teamSupporting Wayfinding Design Manager to ensure design reviews are completed on time and within budgetSupporting the Wayfinding Design Manager in developing and maintaining the Wayfinding Enhancement Program project scope tracker to verify that all scope elements are accounted for and have been or will be assigned to a projectProviding guidance related to the functional requirements contained in the technical specifications or other project documents supplied by our Aviation clientMonitoring BIM productions of all designers and contractors according to our Aviation client's BIM Standards, the BIM Execution Plan, and needs of the Wayfinding Enhancement Program. The Wayfinding Asst. Design Manager is responsible for working with our Aviation client's Central Building Information Management (BIM) to execute the strategy for BIM implementation and reviewActing as technical liaison for the design review processes and comment resolution in coordination with the project manager and the Design Review Team (DRT)Providing technical support and coordination between the Wayfinding Enhancement Program team and other TDIP project teams for program consistency across all disciplinesProviding technical Support for adjacent LAWA projects as required to ensure accurate interfaceProviding technical coordination for project consistency across all disciplinesAssisting the Wayfinding Design Manager with preparing and reviewing briefings, meeting agendas, and supporting materials for various meetings including Board presentations, Steering Committee meeting, Stakeholder outreach, and other TDIP meetingsQualifications

Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications:

10 years or more experience in managing the design of large, complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably on airport projectsDesign management of complex aviation improvements experience requiredExperience managing a team of design professionalsExperience with projects more than $25 million in value.Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/BuildProven ability to perform in a management capacityExcellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulationsMust have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilitiesMust be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgroundsMust be detail oriented and highly organizedEducation/Training:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related field requiredProfessionally licensed Architect and/or Engineer preferredSoftware:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and BluebeamFamiliarity with Project Management Information SystemsAbility to work in CAD or REVIT a plus

Salary Range: $115K to $125K per year.

Location: Los Angeles, CA. This role is 100 percent onsite.
