About the role

As a

Senior Manager in Design Research

, you will lead research across different customer areas to help transform complex workflows and information into easy-to-use experience designs. You will use your knowledge of the Design Thinking process to both coach the team and individually collaborate with partners, facilitate conversations, run design sprints, and conduct generative and evaluative research. You will use your great strengths in storytelling to share your research point of view in a compelling, convincing manner to the broader team. You will work with partners to determine a shared plan forward to addresses research goals and questions across complex business areas

As a Senior Manager on the New Propositions team

,

you represent the perspective of our customers to help understand their needs, motivations, and pain points to inform emerging products and experiences such as GenAI and Extended Reality. You will oversee research and collaborate with partners to inform product strategy and research methodology to inform our omni-channel customer experiences.

You'll make an impact by:

Crafting a strategic research roadmap that pulls from a broad toolkit of in-person and remote research methods including interviews, un-moderated studies, field studies, participatory design, co-creation, diary studies, surveys, and usability testing.

Leading research and working well with others.

Solving complex problems with curiosity and openness.

Proactively soliciting and leveraging competitive research, data, and analytics to inform design and business strategy.

Thinking holistically through the entire ecosystem of end users and competitors.

Switching gears from deep design thinking to rapid-fire execution.

Having exceptional communication & presentation skills, both written and verbal.

Minimum Qualifications...

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00



Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 4 years' experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.

Option 2: 6 years' experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.

As permitted by applicable law, provide evidence of full vaccination as defined by CDC guidelines OR secure approval of medical or religious accommodation for the vaccination mandate.

1 year's supervisory experience.

Driving product development in a design research area, Market Research, Business Analysis, UX Design Research, or related area, Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area, Related industry experience (for example, retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare), Research or design certification (for example, IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate), We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
