Video Content Specialist

Must have the physical, developmental and mental ability to perform job tasks, work efforts, responsibilities and duties of the job illustrated below:MAJOR FUNCTIONIntermediate level video production and editing for government access television channel and digital media. Work closely with the video and social media teams to manage the YouTube channel strategy, content and search engine optimization. This position is 30 percent content creation and 70 percent content management. Work is of more than average physical and mental difficulty and includes all aspects of video production.ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIESWith general direction, produce television and digital media content. Exercise initiative and independent judgment in the professional and technical aspects of video production that includes:

Coordinate with county communications specialists to ensure maximum exposure for high-profile projects.Conceptualize and creating original video content for use throughout all our media platforms and website, which includes all phases of pre-production, shooting, editing and post-production.Participate in set up for studio, truck and remote productions including site surveys, lighting, audio, camera setup, laying cable, shooting and other engineering duties for video production. Will include operation of video production truck.Edit long-form video to create social media content.Optimize video content for publication online on a variety of platforms by creating graphics, writing descriptions, adding tags, uploading thumbnails, etc.Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization.Create weekly, monthly, and quarterly analytics reports that will allow us to see, evaluate and manage what is working and what is not working.Maintain a video library and inventory of every asset on the YouTube Channel.Set up and run public address/microphone systems at county functions.Procure information for community bulletin board and create billboard slides.Operate master control/studio control for live and pre-recorded programming switching, including encoding and quality control of video and audio signals.Perform related work as required.KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLSDemonstrated working knowledge of video production equipment, non-linear editing software, directing, audio, word processing and scripting programs, graphics, traffic and automated playback. Work with limited supervision on assigned tasks.

Ability to communicate effectively with strong writing, editing, and oral communication skills.

High attention to detail, sense of ownership, and dedication to accuracy / quality, and ability to handle multiple projects at once.

Knowledge regarding best practices for YouTube SEO, content creation, content modification, content management, measurement and building greater engagement with the aim of growing our audiences.

Must be able to work in a high-stress environment with multiple high-priority deadlines and manage simultaneous activities for clients of varying levels of importance.

Must be able to work nights and weekends and travel when necessary. Must be able to perform in all weather conditions, lift and transport 45 lbs., bend, stoop, sit or stand for long periods of time and drive from location to location. Must have visual and hearing acuity.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSGraduate of an accredited two-year college or university with major course work in communications, digital media, public relations or a closely related field and three years' experience in video production.

Three years of social media experience required.

Graphic and video software expert using Adobe Creative Suite. A demo reel is required.

Must have a valid driver license and be able to secure a valid Florida driver license at the time of employment within this classification.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTWill be required to work flexible schedules and beyond normal hours (evenings, weekends, disasters) when necessary.

This position may be required to report for work when a declaration of emergency has been declared in Polk County.
